Vasant Garh

Vasant Garh, located on the banks of River Saraswati, is also known as Vatasthana, Vatapura and Vetaleara. Due to the presence of banyan trees in abundance at the site, it is referred to as Vata as well. During the 11th century, the sacrificial hermitage of Rishi Vasistha was built here, under the banyan trees.

It is commonly believed that the Vata City was founded by Rishi Vasistha, who also constructed the Temple of Arka and Bharga.
