Vellai Pillayar Temple

Vellai Pillayar Temple lies in the Thiruvalanchuzhi Village, situated at a distance of around 2 km from the destination. The temple enshrines idols of Sadaimudinathar and His companion Periyanayaki. It is believed that Sage Dhurvasa, with twenty two other sages, performed yagna at this temple. The sages after the yagna installed several Shiva Lingams in this temple.

A shrine devoted to Goddess Kali can be seen in the outer praharam of the temple. Raja Chozhan, an ardent devotee of Goddess Kali, used to worship Her before making any major decision or for going to a battle.
