"Awesome art gallery, memorable experience"

  • 6.5/7

Venkatappa work in the ground floor and Hebbar's work on the 2nd floor is too good, I can never forget this experience. First floor is always reserved for fresh sell artists to sell their work. Only thing that I missed a few more large paintings, it is still a superb experience for art lovers.

"An art gallery and museum with lot of exhibits of historical importance"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Sep 21, 2015
The government museum in Bangalore established in 1865, is one of the oldest in the country and the museum is known for its rare collection of archaeological and geological artefacts such as old jewellery, sculptures and coins etc. The museum exhibits rare antiquities from Mohenjodaro, terracotta from Mathura, weapons from Kodagu and many of the relics found in the museum are as much as 5, 000 years old. The museum comprises two exhibition floors, which are further split into 18 galleries. These galleries cover various sections spanning sculpture, natural history, geology, art, music and numismatics. The museum also has rare paintings of Deccan, Mysore and Tanjore kingdoms. You will also find here a model of Srirangapatna, the fort of Tipu Sultan. The museum is worth visiting and we have gone back to the BC era after seeing the exhibits.

"Beautiful and must visit place with good collection"

  • 7.0/7

It is big museum in Bangalore. Here entry fee is about Rs 20/- per person. This museum is about 4 km from Majestic Bus Stop and 6 km from Kalasipalyam Bus Stop. Here we can see various types of collections of articles and monuments. Scientific apparatus can be seen such as telescopes and mic-ropes and electronic designed micrometer. Etc. I advice children who is interested in science should and must see this gallery as soon as possible.
