About Visakhapatnam (Offbeat Attraction)

voted as clean

Visakhapatnam is often called as Visakha or Vizag and is a major sea port of India. It is located at a distance of around 19 km from Simhachalam and is known as 'The Jewel of the East Coast'. Popular attractions in the city include museums, religious places, beaches and Buddhist excavation sites.

The city serves as the headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command of the Indian Navy and also houses the Naval Museum and Submarine Museum. These museums exhibit a vast collection of models of warships, pictures and other equipment, providing a glimpse into the history of the Indian Navy.

The Bheemli Beach, Gangavaram Beach, Kondakarla Ava Beach, Lawson's Bay Beach and Ramakrishna Beach are some of the prominent attractions of the city. The Indira Gandhi Zoological Park and Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary are noted for offering a natural habitat to varied flora and fauna. The Dolphin's Nose is another popular tourist attraction which is located in the southern part of the city.

The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) Park, also known as the Taraka Rama Park, is a beautiful tourist attraction that spreads over an area of around 220 sq m. Kailasa Giri is a beautiful hill station that derives its name from the Kailasa Hill, which is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva. Apart from these, tourists can visit the Jagadamba Centre and the Matsyadarshini Aquarium located near the city.

"Jai Narsimha is an unique temple"

  • 4.5/7

A unique temple. Structure is same as other South Indian temples. Camera is not allowed. VIP darshan is available. Due to dim light it is very difficult to see God.

"Visakhapatnam is the another richest city in Andhra Pradesh"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Oct 26, 2015
Visakhapatnam is the another richest city in Andhra Pradesh and it is the revenue generated city in Andhra Pradesh. In Visakhapatnam so many places are there to visit. Especially Kailasagiri, Bheemili, Ramakrishna Beach and another important and historic and holy place is none other than Simhachalam. In Simhachalam the Swamy Lord Narasimha is situated. It is a very nice place. Each and every step is situated by Lord Narasimha Swamy. The temple was very peaceful, I liked it and loved a lot. There is a bus way to temple marg by road by bus. It's just near to Vizag bus station. Many places are there to visit.
