Stayed here for 1 night on a business trip. The property is very good. I have stayed in plenty of places in Kochi, but I found this place to be the best value for money hotel in Kochi. The hotel had good amenities: nice restaurant, good Wi-Fi, comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. It is a well maintained hotel. The staff was courteous and polite. The hotel was calm during the night, with no noise at all. It is a good hotel for both business and non-business stay.
The hotel resort with its wonderful landscaping is beautiful and close to nature. The rooms with bathrooms were very well designed and gave a beautiful colonial look. Resort is very well maintained next to the backwaters and bird sanctuary. There were several activities organised for free by the resort to keep guests entertained. The Kerala ayurvedic massage was exceptional. Food in the resort was good but can be made more tasty.

Warm welcoming staff, very pleasant stay with nice food. Hotel has a nice feeling of old fashion property, but kept very well maintained. Hotel is situated at a Artificial man maid Island (Willington Island). It is near to sea. Amazing location if you will see in Google map. Best part was, we need not to depend on hotel taxi but local Uber Taxi was available. Book by app or book ola cab by phone and easily reachable. Also there was Water ferry running just near to hotel and leaving in city so that was also amazing connectivity. Food was so nice and variety was there. Breakfast was serving in its dining which was calling as Dolphin area because it was shaped like this. Jiwa (Spa) services are excellent. Pool gives immense pleasure due to its location near sea. Hotel staff is good and knows their duties. In the evening at 4. 45pm, complimentary Snacks were organised by hotel on daily. There was evening Cruz at 5pm sharp which were giving a ride in back water of Arabian sea and which was connected to it. I have seen Dolphin there. Its amazing experience and far better than Goa Cruz experience because we are travelling in 5-star hotel's cruz. Amazing .. Must visit
The moment you enter Taj Malabar. The world comes to a standstill. The people here will do everything to help and comfort you. From the amazing welcome drink to the smooth check-in. Everything is hassle free. I had a sea facing room. Moment you enter the room the view of the sea and Cochin port strikes you. The view is amazing(Sunset). Even the rooms are well-maintained. Then there is a high tea arranged in the evening at Dolphin point. The thing to notice here is that there is a guy with catapult shooing away crows. This is followed by the amazing boat cruise. Both the high tea and boat cruise are on the house. Try the delicious food at Rice Boat. Though the lobster bisque was average. Don't forget to try the Tender coconut scuffle. Also, try the food at The Pavilion. Kung Po Duck is not to be missed for Duck meat lovers. Overall, a wonderful experience. Will surely comeback here. Take the rooms on sea side and on the higher floors.
You can't go wrong with a Taj and this one is no different. Location - slightly away from the Airport. On an Island and surrounded by water bodies. Rooms - well-appointed rooms, usual Taj service, can't complain. Food - 3 restaurants, good breakfast, okay service. The servers could have smiled a bit more but they were very stiff. Don't know if the Foreigners present led to that. Fitness - fairly nice spa, good gym and steam room. Again, up to expectations in a 4/5 star. Merlon (think that was the name) was very helpful. All in all, good stay and a nice experience.
As expected by the Taj brand, a beautiful hotel with exquisite decor, landscaping and layout. The location is fantastic, set right on the lake, with a view of the famous Kerala backwaters. The overall feeling one gets is a sense of serene calm in the lap of luxury. The hotel has two wings, the Heritage Wing and the New Tower. We opted to stay in the Heritage Wing which has larger rooms in the original wooden decor of the hotel. In fact, we upgraded to the hotel's Malabar Suite which was a thrill in itself. A massive suite, the size of a full-fledged apartment, with its own terrace, overlooking the jetty and the lake beyond. The high points are the hotel's High Tea served every evening at the jetty, followed by a short cruise of the Kerala backwaters. The pool side is beautiful and we spent a relaxing morning splashing and lounging about the pool. The breakfast buffet is good, the usual spread one would expect from a 5 Star hotel. One disappointment is the buffet lunch, which we felt is not up to the Taj standards we have experienced at other places. The spread is very limited and a bit disappointing. Also, while their coffee shop menu is very extensive and offers a large selection in most cuisines, unfortunately, the items we chose were not available on the day. Since it is a small hotel, we were told this sometimes it is the case as items are prepared in limited quantity. Special mention for Mr. Sunil, the Manager, who is most courteous and did his best to accommodate our requests and continuously ensured we were comfortable during our stay. Overall, we had a lovely stay, especially enjoying the beautiful room, the pool and pleasant lake views.
The location was very convenient and was in the city centre and I had been here for a vacation with my family in the month of August 2014. The hotel appearance was good and there was no problem at check-in and check-out since I had booked the room in advance through online. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the service was on time. The room was spacious and well maintained, the room was neat and clean and the room had basic amenities and we could sea view from the room. The hotel had a restaurant and the breakfast was complimentary, the food was tasty and there was a variety of food. It was worth paying and recommendable to others. An activity like swimming pool was available and the location was close to the beach.
