|2 Ratings & 1 Review||
Vizhinjam Beach was originally a commercial centre for the Europeans, Portuguese and the Dutch, who used to trade with the native kings. This beach is situated 4.7 km away from Kovalam, in the coastal town of Vizhinjam. Vizhinjam Beach serves as a major sea port area. The area around the beach is dotted with several Ayurvedic treatment centres, where Ayurvedic massages and treatments are available.

A fishing village 2 km south of Kovalam, Vizhinjam is a natural port and we can reach the harbour driving down from the Vizhinjam town through the narrow concrete road. The sight of numerous country boats lying side by side is a marvellous sight. On the other side the water sprays on us when the waves lash the sea wall built to control the intensity of the waves. Vizhinjam is one of the busiest fishing harbours in the district and it is all set to become the biggest shipping port of the region.More » « Less
