Excellent Food, Comfortable stay and hygienic food. This place is good hide out for the people who wants to spend time with your loved ones. Each and every moment in the resort will be memorable to you. Be it walk in hanging bridge or having your coffee in the room balcony that is facing a natural water fall, every penny that you have spent is worth. Rooms and packages are bit expensive, but its worth paying that money.

Perfect place for honeymoon, or if you seek a get away from the busy life, it's calm and perfect to enjoy the indoor activities. Sound of nature is awesome especially for the people from busy land. Vythiri is the best for the said requirements, however there is nothing much to see around in the resort. Rain makes the greenery to greenish and you will sleep will lullaby of crickets and the sound of small streams. And you will wake up in the morning hearing birds. Must visit place, I will visit again soon.

Calicut-Bangalore 4 line road facility to reach the hotel and it is expensive. All types of food are available. Car parking, trucking, tree house, swimming pool are also available. Good room service in a natural huts, totally a non air polluted hotel. Stay is expensive and rooms are very clean. Easy access from Ooty, Coimbatore, Mysore and Cochin.

We stayed in Vythiri Resort, Wayanad from 30 September to 2 October 2014, 3 nights and it was a truly memorable experience. I really don't know from where to start. The resort is made by creating some space amongst the forest trees and this makes the whole ambience of the resort forest like. There is a waterfall in between and the cottages are erected around the waterfall. Thus, you always keep hearing soothing sound from the waterfall and in fact balconies of some rooms open besides are almost¯ the waterfall and its amazing! Staying there is like living one with nature.

Entrance is small and has an ethnic diya and it doesn't give any clue about what's beyond it. There are also fishes at the entrance and quite big ones. The waiting area itself can be fun place for kids where they can feed the fishes with the groundnut cake.

You can also go to the waterfall and sit there or take a dip (be careful!) or simple stretch your legs in the water. How can I forget the hanging bridge from reception you have to use the hanging bridge to cross the waterfall to go to restaurant, coffee shop and many cottages. Snails are in plenty in the resort and you can see them roaming around (though quite slowly!) on walkways and other places.

We stayed in a cottage whose balcony opens on the waterfall and it was amazing. For one night we stayed in a child friendly tree house also, which is near the restaurant. The tree house was safe as it is built keeping children in mind. In that tree house we found a snail too which we asked to remove and we were not sure where it might slowly move to during the night. The treehouse was okay and could have had better carpet and general furnishing. We heard that other treehouses are not child friendly and are bit far off, so can't comment on those. If you have booked a honeymoon package, you can enjoy a decent candle light dinner but don't expect too much from the flower decoration in the room.

The couple spa included in the package was average, but they were kind enough to split the couple spa into two separate sessions because of children. You get evening snacks in coffee shop and that's the only place to get WiFi, which is erratic. But, anyways, it's better not to hook on to outer world when you are there. There is provision for morning tea delivered to the room. Restaurant food is quite good with very good options. Staff is extremely caring and friendly. In fact they cooperated a lot with us, considering we having two children with us. The restaurant itself is spacious and there is live music during dinner on some days. You can also see and feel Malabar squirrels from the restaurant.

Apart from the waterfall, highlight of the resort is nature walk (in morning) conducted by naturalist Dr. Yogananda Rao. He is quite knowledgeable about the animals, birds, trees, etc, and very encouraging. Depending on weather and wishes of the group, you may also go to waterfall with him. I had a nice time climbing up and down the waterfall, sliding on rocks and getting drenched! During nature walk we saw juvenile deer etc. apart from variety of flora and fauna and even pugmarks of leopard. During rainy season, be ready for leeches. But don't be afraid of the same as you can easily remove them later. Some people get upset by leeches but there is no need to do so. Focussing too much on leeches doesn't let you enjoy the nature. Nature walk is a must there and I am very thankful to Dr. Yogananda for the excellent walk in forest and in the waterfall. I could have done it again and again and could have spent hours and days there, if I can. There are other activities also in the resort like badminton, morning yoga sessions etc. For a lighter version of nature walk, you may also go for plantation walk in the evening. Dr. Yogananda explains everything (about flora and fauna) so well that even my 4.5 yr old kid remembers about coffee beans, ferns, moss, butterfly, medicinal flower, rudraksha, etc. Nature walk and plantation walk make the trip memorable for a lifetime.

When in Vythiri resort, it doesn't make much sense to go out of the resort to tourist places sightseeing. However, if you want to the you can go to Banasura dam which has good scenic beauty and boating provision. But make sure you take jeep from the entrance as the walk is long and also to avoid lunch hour as that time they close the boating ticket window. Another place is chembra peak, but it is good only if you are going for trekking, which is full day. Going to the tourist point is of no use. Soojipara falls is also a nice location as you can bathe there, if you want to. However, the walk is very long and definitely not worth it if you are not planning to bathe in the waterfall. We couldn't go to Pookot lake and Edakkal caves, so can't really comment on that. For Edakkal caves, people asked us to avoid as we had children and the caves require quite a climb and walk to reach.

As such Wayanad is quite a green place, full of natural beauty. Vythiri resort definitely does justice to that place and given a chance, we would like to go back there.

I went over there with my friends. The location of the hotel was good as it was convenient to all places and I didn't face any difficult to reach. The appearance was nice both interior and exterior in the hotel. The booking system in the hotel was satisfied. The room allotted to me was well kept with needed amenities. There was a view from the room. The food in the hotel was good quality and taste. The activities organized by the hotel management. The swimming pool was not available in the hotel. The money bit expensive but it was worthy. I would like recommend this hotel to others travel.
