Overall, this is a fantastic property to be in. overall, we didnt had any negative experience and the help from the front desk was very good. It is in a secluded spot and away from the coonoor town which is good and the garden is fabulous to spend the lazy afternoons.
Wallwood Garden is a Neemrana run resort. An old guest house converted with exclusive & unique bedrooms. Each room is creatively named after nilgiri trees & plants. The best part about Wallwood is the view from the dining area. A thoughtfully sone couch setaing area by the dining nehances the experience. Service is very personal and the staff is exteremely kind & courteous. The Chef is retained from the guest house management and dishes out sumptuos food tingling your tastebuds. Coonoor, being a very low profile city doesn’t offer any major entertainment options except for the weekend movie you can catch up at the Army base theatre(generally plays a two-month old hindi flick). Wallwood is a perfect getaway if you want to be on your own and don’t want to have a boring "hotel" experience. You leave with a feeling of having taken a break in your own resort. Wish the Tamilnadu Government makes better transportation services and roads, the strain of which sometimes could take away your holiday pleasure. The toy train is veru unreliable as the service is very dependant on the weather & landslides. This makes travelling in rainy season a bit cumbersome. Though Coonoor is afar cry from other pretty hillstations, its proximity to Ooty compensates the dryness. A quick cab drive lands you in Ooty and is a good destination for entertainment, shopping, the botanical garden & horse rides. Neemrana lives upto their expectation and kudos to the management for identifying exclusive properties like Wallwood Garden to give the discerning traveller a good holiday experience.
We booked the entire property consisting of ten Double Rooms and this was our home away from home where our family stayed for the five days we were there for our Son's wedding which was held at the Taj Gateway. Wallwood is a heritage bungalow overlooking Sims Park. Beautiful property. The rooms (all different) were cozy and comfortable but lacked basic amenities we have come to expect. There were no lockers in any of the rooms. The cupboards were not user friendly. The bathrooms had all been done up well and were well stocked. The housekeeping was in keeping with with the homely atmosphere that prevailed. The lack of basic amenities was more than made up by the most amazing staff who were ever ready to please any demand of ours. The Hotel is a short walk to the market center and Sims Park besides the sprawling tea gardens growing the famous Nilgiri Tea. Keeping in mind this being a hill station walking is the best pastime. The Coonoor Railway Station takes you on the Blue Mountain Express and a trip to Ooty-17km-is almost a must! There are many tourist attractions which most people enjoy.Wellington, a cantonment is just two kms away. The two clubs, Wellington Gymkhana Club and Coonoor Club are the most amazing hangouts. Fruits you may have heard about but never tasted are available in plenty. Remember to pick up not only some of the famed Nilgiri tea but also the amazing Eucalyptus Oil and many medicinal and aromatic oils as well as the spices. I got the most amazing srilankan variety cinnamon. And don't forget the cheeses and chocolates! Woollies and walking shoes are a must. Be prepared to enjoy a hill station holiday which is not bustling with tourists!
Wallwood Garden true to its name has beautiful garden both at the front and backside. Conoor is a lovely hill station and our experience of staying in Wallwood made it all the more memorable. The best activity was a trip from Metupalyam to Ooty by the toy train. We paid Rs 1000 for actual tickets worth Rs 32 but trust me every rupee spent was worth the experience in the breathtaking Nilgiris.
The check-in and check-out was done on time. There were no activities in this hotel. I had visited this hotel with friends. Transportation facility was far away from the hotel. The appearance of the hotel was good. The room allotted to me was neat and clean. The overall service was good. The food quality was good. I would like to recommend this hotel for upcoming travellers.

Coonoor is one place where one can actually feel like ‘time’ decided to ‘snooze’. With its clean and pollution free surroundings, this place is quite the attraction for people who lot to hit the hills during summer. Dolphin’s Nose is a spectacular Read More
