Dandeli food, sight-seeing and shopping options
Homely and hygienic food we experienced in Dandeli Jungle Camp, Prabhani. Arranged by Dandeli Tourism Website. Rooms are cottage type without AC and still this jungle resort is located in mid of jungle away from roads ( better located than any other resorts near Dandeli).

Hotel Review of Hornbill River Resorts
Comments: We booked 5 days and 4 nights, but that's far too many days. The activities on the site look very appealing, but we were only able to do the safari (4.30 depart, driving on main roads, see bison, peacock and deer, NO tiger or other wild animal) and a boattrip around a lake (which you could already see from ashore). The 'jacuzzi' was nice though. Rafting wasn't possible, because the Dam wasn't open. Big dissapointment. Non of the other activities on the website (kayak, rock climbing, camping overnight etc.) were presented to us.
Best Experience: The jacuzzi. It's a collection of big rocks, with wild water running over it. You have to lay back against the water and it's very strong, almost pulls you down. A guide comes along. The cook was a nice guy. Always ready to help. Served more food than you could handle. Beautifull surroundings and nature, swimming. But you have seen that in just one day, if you're not allowed to do and see other tings.
Worst Experience: It's back to basic. No tv, no phone. You should only use your cabin to sleep. (hard bed) Electricity fell down couple times a day. If you want hot water, you have to let the management know 15 minutes in advance. It's dark: only 2 lightbulbs on the ceiling. The shower has a short hose(?) so long people have to bend down and you have to hold it yourself it while taking the shower. Bugs: bring your own musquito-net! Cottage: Pictures on website do not match reality. It looks like the inside of a waterwell. Nothing to do at the resort. It's quiet, no action at all. Didn't like the food either, they try hard though. Old breadThere is a buffet which is served on set times. We came as a couple, but my boyfriend was the one they spoke to.

We tried to get a refund for the days we were not going to stay. While doing that, we found out the agent asked around ?45,- for their services. Tip: if you want to go here, book directly, saves money!
