"We were looking for great..."

  • Posted Jan 23, 2008
We were looking for great holiday destination but were not able to decide where to go exactly ! And then somehow we decided on Devbagh beach resort at Karwar. Fortunately all our expectations came true and we had memorable holiday here. Devbagh Beach Resort is an excellent place in itself with great seashore, trees and cool breeze. Here, you really feel that you are part of this nature !! The place is so calm and so nice that it leads you to think this way.

Best Experience: The resort has got strategic location, blessed with the sea. The rooms were also good and provide value for money. The food provided had typical kokani taste for which we were actually looking for. The room was good and staff was cool as well. The attitude towards tourist is appreciated. The games part was best to mention ! We had parasailing, ball games, boating at sea and kali river. Parasailing was an amazing experience. We did it for the first time.

Worst Experience: Luxury expectations can be fulfilled easily if resort really focuse on those. Nothing worst as such happened, but keep your expectations average on luxuries. Rooms can be more cozy. Games option can be improved easily.

"Myself and my wife debjani..."

  • Posted Oct 4, 2007
Myself and my wife debjani wanted to enjoy every bit of this trip.We were never to this region earlier,so was thrilled by the unknown activities that awaits us. We started from Bangalore by volvo bus to mangalore on friday night.Reached Mangalore aroung morning 9 o'clock.Took the Matsyagandha express towards karwar on the same day. We could have taken a direct bus to karwar from bangalore, but wanted to enjoy the journey along the KR.so we took the pain of the break journey. The Train journey to karwar was one of the best train journey I have had ever in India. The train passed through a lot of tunnels(as long as 6km in some places),with some waterfalls inside the tunnels. One can even see the sea while sitting inside the train. There are a lot of rivers on the way. The natural beauty of this route is awesome. We reached karwar around evening 7.30 pm and stayed in the Bhadra lodge for the night.Next day around 12 o'clock we shifted to the Devbagh beach resort.

Best Experience: The beach is awesome. The location and the ambeience is really great. The best part of the resort I liked most is its secluded, beautiful, peaceful and very very secured. The behaviour of the staffs at the resort is very warm. The cottages and the log-huts are a wonderful experience to stay. I wish if I could have spent my whole life here in this resort..:)

Worst Experience: There are no bad experiences to mention.Only thing we lament is that we were not able to do the banana boat ride due to some technical fault in the speed boat. This place is worth visit for every nature lover.

"One of the best beach..."

  • Posted Jan 30, 2006
One of the best beach locations I have ever seen. The beach is not only very long but also very wide - just right for couples to take long romantic walks. With mountains rising on one side and casuarina groves behind, the beach provides the most serene and at the same time stunning view. The resort is very charming with the log huts and cottages located within the casurina groves. Though not luxurious, the rooms are comfortable and clean. Service is prompt and food quality is reasonably good.

Best Experience: The long walks on the beach, picking up shells along the way and chasing crabs into their crab-holes is something you can keep doing time and again and not get bored. Every time of the day the sea is a different colour and one can keep gazing at it. The morning walk in the forest surrounding the resort on one side is a nice experience where one can spot different varieties of birds.

Worst Experience: No water sport activities (except Banana Boat rides) were available as the weather played traunt. We wanted to go para-sailing, but could not as the wind direction was not favourable. Snorkelling was also not possible due to some reason. Plus we found the charges for water sports on the higher side compared to some other destinations like, say Goa.
