Excellent staff, personalized service

6.1/7
Posted 11 Nov, 2011

The tree lined driveway welcomed us as we drove up to the reception area. We were greeted warmly, offered refreshing drinks and shown to our rooms which were quaint and very tastefully furnished. These rooms were originally stables of the Maharajah of Jodhpur which has been now converted into comfortable A/C rooms for guests with all amenities including a minibar and tea/coffee maker. Toiletries and soft, fresh towels were provided in the bathroom and each room had its own private sit out at the back! In front stretched an immaculately manicured lawn with peacocks dancing around in resplendent hues. The sweet smell of grass and the gentle swaying of the trees made our stay all the more special. But that is not all of the property. A brisk walk will took us to the swimming pool set among the lush surroundings of the property. There is no dirth of enjoyable exploration for the morning walker or the nature lover and plenty of photo -op for the camera buff. Set amidst natural beauty, it is a haven for city dwellers like us. The warmth of the staff is worth mentioning. Everywhere we went, from the room and restaurant staff to the groundsmen, all made us feel so welcome. Dining options are at the formal dining room and a Barbeque outdoors which was all the more romantic with the warm light from oil lamps set at each tble. The kebab fare was impressive and very tasty. This does not mean that the food in the dining room was any less in taste. Rajasthani meals were served along with interesting a la carte options. The breakfast spread with fresh juice, continental and Indian fare with a live egg counter and innumerable cups of coffee served by a smiling staff, made us start our mornings very well. Visits to the majestic Mehrangarh fort and Umaid Bhavan made Jodhpur a destination which we will revisit again but more so because of our stay in the lap of luxury and warmth as provided by this hotel.

Beautiful property and worth the money

6.7/7
Posted 5 Aug, 2015

It's worth the money spent at Hotel Bal Samand, Lakeview Palace. The abode is serene, peaceful, abundant green. The garden is in abundant appearance and you can acquisition peacocks in the garden. The alignment was as well acceptable and the agents was accessible and courteous. You would feel the ability in every sq. ft of the 200 odd acreage of the palace. Watch peacocks, birds, monkeys just alfresco the rooms. And the best allotment is food. Tell me one bowl of Balsamand which is average. They discount the garden, area you will acquisition peacocks in abundance. Dinner is served in the garden and the agents is accessible abundant to ensure you are balmy abundant in the winters by lighting up board bonfires next to your tables. Try the barbecues but ensure you eat fast. They tend to go algid in the brittle winter air. Wake up aboriginal morning and go for jog about the property. Climb up to the capital Alcazar (with the adorned flush apartment - that accord you a after taste of active in royalty) that overlooks the reservoir, which till date alignment baptise to the farms about Jodhpur city-limits via an animated age-old water-duct. It is an engineering marvel. Don't absence out on the 175 year old buggy ride and if you are adventurous, yield a aristocratic horse ride about the property. Excellent food, consistently afresh made.

New property located 10 kms from city centre

5.5/7
Posted 10 Apr, 2015

Had the pleasure of visiting this property in December-2014 for attending a conference. Being a ITC property, it has all the facilities and qualities of a 5 star property. But being relatively new, it is yet to obtain the star rating. The hotel is situated a bit far from the railway station (around 10 kms). It has huge open spaces, big garden area, a nice big open pool and all other amenities you expect from ITC brand. Rooms were spacious and comfortable with nice views. Staff was attentive to our needs. I was unable to locate my TV remote at around 12 midnight. They send in a guy with duplicate TV remote immediately. Breakfast spread was excellent but the lunch and dinner spread needed more variety. Overall, a good experience in relatively cheap price (they are yet to obtain the star rating).

It is one of the best hotels

6.0/7
Posted 28 Nov, 2014

It was one of the best hotels I had ever seen. The hotel was not conveniently located, it was far from the city. The food was not tasty. The rooms were very good with all the amenities. The hotel was under construction but still everything was good. Swimming pool, indoor and outdoor activities were provided in the hotel but it was under construction. We had swimming pool view from the hotel. The hotel has provided a parking facility and Wi-Fi connection. The hotel was value for money and will recommend to other traveller.
