I stayed in Wild Orchid Resorts, Havelock Island for two days. It's located in real Wild Orchid surroundings and a lot of thought and plan was applied to make the property look like in Wild Forest and rooms to appear nomadic looks. Room maintenance is very good. A beautiful beach is just behind the resorts ( 5 minutes walk). This beach is far far better than Kaala Pattar Beach. I found some Jelly fish in the clear beach waters.

The hotel staff are very courteous and cooperative. Food tastes excellent, however it is bit costly.

Pros:

1. Real Orchids are grown around the resorts and nomadic rooms are enhancing the ambiance.

2, Tasty food. Good restaurant and bar.

3. Quick and positive hotel staff

4. Traditional nomadic look inside and outside rooms.

Cons:

1. No WIFI, no intercom, no satellite signals (No DTH). Only Cable connection with poor signals. No LED TV (They said in some rooms LED TVs are available) and no card payment.

In-spite of all the above cons, this is Budget and beautiful Resort for comfortable stay. Newly wedded couple can worth try for a stay.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 days in the month of May 2015 and the experience was thoroughly satisfying. Large and clean rooms located 100 meters from Vijay nagar beach. You could walk any time to the beach. ( A beach where the tides are very low compared to Radhanagar beach. Good for walking and relaxing. Very good food and complimentary breakfast too had variety and taste. I asked for a beach dinner on my anniversary, the setup for which was not the same as they show you in the photos. A little disappointment though. Food, though very tasty, was a little costly. If you wish to save on food, you can choose to eat in road side restaurants. We tried in 2 different restaurants and all severed nice foods.

Travel Date: April'15

While the hotel room had all the facilities like AC, TV and hot water, it maintained an rustic and ancestral look, just what we were looking for. The huge wooden bed, the hammock outside in the cute porch of our room, and the completely wooden structure of the rooms, the reception and the restaurant transported us to a different world altogether.

Special Highlight, the lots of talking lizards which are a salient feature of the entire Havelock Island. There was also a tiny library with decent collection. Food was average, but we always hung out at Fat Martin's nearby. The proximity to the beach made it heaven for us. Must try, the seaside Yoga.

After a good heartening sea journey you reach the virgin land of Havelock. It is altogether a different experience of travelling to other places. Natural beauty, flora and fauna, scuba one can explore. Just located at the beach gives a very satisfying experience.

One can hire the motor bike to tour around Havelock. This place is thinly populated and food there is really awesome.

One can hear the soothing water wave music from hotel room. Tariffs and services are excellent.

This hotel was simply awesome. The rooms were nice. The cottages felt completely different feel as compared to the other hotels. The food here was exotic and gave us a nice experience. The only negative was that there were no phone line in the rooms. The hotel was close to the beach which was a big plus.

Overall, my stay there was fine. Everything was fine in Havelock. Hotel's location was very good. Pick-up and drop facility was provided by them. I liked the room there because that was totally different. It was well-decorated. I liked the stay at Havelock. Food was nice. Quality, quantity, and variety wise, it was good. We did not use any activity over there because most of the time we were on the beach. Services in Havelock were very good. Booking and front office people were also very good. It was value for money. I will recommend this hotel to other travellers.

This was not an advisable place for the guest as the hotel was not maintained well. The bugs had beaten us badly. The hotel did not have basic facility. The bugs were in the restaurant. The hotel had very less staffs to serve. They didn?t have first aid too. The rooms were spacious, neat and well maintained. I had no view through the room. The hotel?s appearance was good. Few staffs were very friendly and cooperative but some were not professional at all. The food was good. They had many webs formed on the roof. The place was not hygiene. The hotel had organised DJ music. The hotel stay was value for money but I would not like to recommend this hotel to others.

I travelled for 3 days to Havelock with my wife and 9 month old daughter. I had booked and paid the entire 3 nights in advance, they demand 100% payment upfront and the room cost me totally 17K odd for 3 nights. The hotel driver holding our name placard was waiting for us at the Jetty when we arrived at Havelock, as included in the package. We reached in about 15 minutes and the hotel doesn't have a big property and is rustic. It is green but not much space to move around and it has around 10-15 cottages in total, and is on the Vijaynagar beach but not beach facing. There is a back entrance of the resort that opens to the beach after a 2 minutes walk, so no beach views from the resort. The room or cottage is very minimal, no modern amenities. Furniture looked rustic and old, may be to keep with the theme of wild. The TV too was old but they did have a kettle and a wonderfully cold AC. The water heater worked, the bathroom was clean and they supplied decent quality toiletries. The bedding was not great, our bed mosquito frame actually broke during our stay and had to be fixed. It being a forest destination, one can expect small insects. We say 2 lizards in our room, which scared me at first but we had a power insect repellent which we kept on throughout. The breakfast in minimal with an option of Aloo Paratha or omelet to go with toast and cut fruits but the taste was super. On the last day they had a buffet breakfast and the in resort restaurant Red Snapper is not great. We ate once, was expensive and didn't taste as well as other nearby. Unfortunately our stay here coincided with Hudhud cyclone, which meant we experience continuous rains for 36 hours and this meant we had to stay in our room only. No TV, it getting dark in 4 pm and no activities, amenities in resort meant that we got bored and worried. Also the resort is lower than nearby resorts, so all the water flowed from elsewhere and logged in the resort, outside our rooms, almost up to knee length, with a small baby, rains not stopping, water level increasing and prospect of water related insects, I got really worried but must stay the reception staff (manager Rajan) were great in calming my nerves. They may not have the best infrastructure, but they have a heart, they serve you well and they treat you like customers. They allow there guests to you the reception phone for free, even for long distance calls (mobile phone networks are not there). They are informative and gave accurate weather updates to us and I can't thank them enough for the help they provided in the crisis situation. They have many activities that can be done with them which are all more expensive than outside except for Scuba diving. Don't rent a scooter from them, a minutes walk outside is a shop. Similarly hiring a taxi or booking an elephant beach trip is all more expensive at the resort but it they themselves who say so and advice us to book directly. See, people with a heart and they have their own Padi certified diving company called Andaman Bubbles, which is famous with foreign tourists. I booked an introductory dive for myself, which costs 4K but they charged 3K due to in house guest discount. I paid 1K advance on the first day to go early morning next day but due to cyclone, I was not comfortable to go in sea the next day, although they were ready to take me. They accepted it and immediately returned my 1K advance, nice touch. The booking in advance is also much professionally managed with their sales office in Kolkata. If you going purely for activities like beach hopping, diving, etc and travelling as couple of with friends and then this is a decent place to stay but if with kids who would want few resort activities (like swings, games, garden to play in), then look elsewhere.

It was a nice hotel. From outside, it looks like a hut. From inside it was fully modern with well-equipped like AC, etc. It was very quiet and calm. I visited there with my family in July, 2014. No activity was there. Every hotel was having beach because it was a small island. It was good because nothing was artificial there everything was very natural. It is value for money. I would recommend this hotel to others. No suggestion is needed. Food was also of good quality. They charged Rs. 8000 per day.
