Great stay & the location was mind-blowing

Posted 13 Jul, 2015

I stayed for 2 evenings at Wildernest, Chorla Ghats in a Forest View Cottage amid the storms and had a magnificent time. I was picked from the air terminal and acquired to Wildernest two or three hours, in the nick of time for breakfast. After a stunning breakfast I began for the waterfall trek with a couple of different visitors and an aide. The entire trek endures 2 and half hours and you're drenched before the end of it even with the downpour incredible you are furnished with. Not the most straightforward of treks but rather week worth the exertion when thou get to the waterfall. On the off chance that you truly need to get no holds barred with the waterfall, you'll need to wade through thigh high water. The drenching you get is most likely justified, despite all the trouble. The night treks are really short additionally truly pleasant. Amid the storm, fog wins during that time and it feels like right on time morning at a slope station as the day progressed (however not exactly as cool). The fog does cover up subsequent to of the perspectives yet it tidies up and on giving you a splendid perspective of waterfalls and the woods. It rains always and there is a genuine wonder to it. The bungalows are wooden and have immense windows on 3 dividers giving you a decent perspective of the backwoods. Despite the fact that you are inside the resort, it does feel like you're amidst a timber land. The sustenance is awesome. It's basically Konkani sustenance made with fixings sourced provincially and developed in their own particular ranches. Of you're not an aficionado of coconut in your sustenance, you may not care for a considerable lot of the dishes. I don't have that issue and cherished the nourishment. On the off chance that you like the downpours, don't worry about a few bloodsuckers hooking on to you and like to be unified with nature, Wildernest amid the storms is an unquestionable requirement. Just negative was that I wasn't given a room till 12 30 however I arrived at 8 30 AM. Didn't make a difference an excessive amount of on the grounds that I went for the trek. Weigh in is at 1:00 however I wasn't educated that arriving before the actual arranged time would mean I wouldn't get a room. Be that as it may, for this little hiccup, I had a brilliant time and will without a doubt return.

The staff were efficient, friendly and informative, many of them being guides and helpers on the many varied trails and visits that are available. The food was excellent, being freshly cooked and prepared giving a taste of the local fare, normally presented in a buffet style but obviously very fresh. The staff are quite young and wildlife enthusiasts wanting to impart their knowledge which is wonderful to experience. The walk to the waterfall was quite long but taking it easy and observing the insects and flora was a delight, obviously not accessible during the heavier rains of the monsoon times as some of the approach was on the river bed. The accommodation is good with all amenities although rustic in some ways, but what do you expect from a forest retreat.

It was amazing. The entire setup is totally refreshing. Go there if you want to step out of the mundane life and immerse yourself in the freshness of nature. We spent a total of 4 days 3 nights and it was total bliss.

Overall worth the stay

Posted 20 Jan, 2016

This place away from the maddening Goa crowd city party place but a place closer to the nature was one of in it's own kind experience. What I loved the most was it's no phone or Internet connectivity which makes your stay peaceful and allowing more time to spend more quality time with your partner/family. We opted for room facing Valley which was a good decision as compared to forest views. Infinity pool was a major attraction for us. Typical southern food was offered in earthen pots which you hardly get to experience. Rooms were quite clean, but yes beware of mosquitoes and insects which are bound to be there amidst so much of greenery. Warm staff and always ready to help with a smile. Loads of fun filled and adventure activities can be enjoyed. I enjoyed mehndi, small trek in the evening, bird watching trek in the morning. We refrained from watching entertainment activities like short movies etc. Overall worth the stay.

Overall experience was just... Wow! One cannot imagine having such a lush thick green forest habitat so close to Goa, which is generally cherished for the water-front habitat. Wonderful location after a good meandering drive from Goa. We were allotted the forest-view cottage which was very well nestled in the greens connected by narrow stone pathways. The rooms are good with rustic ambiance and just necessary amenities. The best part were the huge glass windows, which make u feel one with the surrounding forest. We could spot various birds, monkeys, insects right outside our cottage. The restaurant was a great space with cosy ambiance inside with a beautiful waterfall view. The support staff was simple, gentle and courteous in mannerisms. The food was elaborate yet simple, wholesome and tasty. The fish fry was awesome. The season according to us was not exactly the right one to visit. It was raining heavily, and hence not many jungle activities, except for some short treks. But the place was so good, Im not complaining at all!
