Wildernest is an awesome jungle resort..a great place to unwind on a weekend....it had much more than what we expected! The entire place has been given a rustic wooden look to give you a feel of the jungle life. The cottages are well hidden on the slopes and have an unbeievable view of the valleys.

Best Experience: The best part was undoubtedly the swimming pool which seemed like God\'s own pool - straight out of heaven! It gives you an amazing view of the sunset over the green valleys. The food consisted of vast spreads of very palatable home style meals. The staff is very helpful and take care of all that you need.

Worst Experience: None

The place is beautiful and the drive is out of this world... It pays to leave a little early so you can catch the morning sun!!!

Best Experience: The food and drink is of the local variety and extremely well prepared...

Wildernest is an amazingly lovely place tucked away in the densely forested woods on the Goa-Karnataka border. We spent a night and two days here, and die-hard jungle enthusiasts that we are, loved the fact that we were completely surrounded by trees! The resort, which consists of 18 cottages, is designed in such a way that no two cottages are in sight of each other. What with the ubiquitous butterflies and birds (and the occasional glimpse of bison grazing on a nearby hill), this is a great place for a nature-lover.

Best Experience: - We saw a number of species of lovely butterflies; a pair of very beautiful yellow-browed bulbuls and a red-whiskered bulbul, and just about missed seeing some bison - The food, which is traditional Maharashtrian, is splendid. - The staff double up as naturalists, Front Office assistants, Food Service staff, and general guides. They\'re all very helpful, yet unobtrusive.

Worst Experience: - We\'d gone during the monsoon, and found that the bedlinen in our room was very damp and musty; even the heavy cloth blinds at the windows had patches of mould! - The walls of the cottages are just a trifle too thin; if you\'re a light sleeper, the crickets, toads and God knows what else will keep you up through the night. - There\'s a very real fear of insects creeping into your room, even if you keep the door shut all the time- we found a scorpion in our room.
