I went to Bandipur National Park and stayed in this hotel. The location of the hotel was good. The internal and external appearance of the hotel was good. The check in and checkout was done on time. The service of the staffs in the hotel was friendly and helpful. The room allotted to me was neat with all required amenities in working condition. The food provided in the hotel was good in quality and taste. There were no activities in the hotel.
It really is an extension of the forest . I had deers peeping into my room when I woke up in the morning. They were actually all around the place within the resort. I overheard someone say that they actually feel safe in the resort because atleast the carnivores would remain away :). The food buffet was not widespread but I like the whatever was available to eat. The chef and the staff took good care of us . The rooms were spacious and the so was the bath. I liked the interiors as it seemed to gell well with the forest. At 10pm all the lights were out and there was darkness outside the room. In the morning we went for a trek and we were lucky to see a cow that was killed by a tiger over night. Sad thing for villagers though. There was a safari planned by the Hotel in the evening and we went for our own for the morning one at 6 am (starts at 6.20 am at the forest office) which was more peaceful and enriching. The pool was a bit of a disappointment for me. But that was more that made up for by the beautiful forest around. Considering the forests my rooms was insect free and that was a pleasant surprise.
It is a nice place but as it is in the forest the resort needs to have more things to do at the resort. The activity area is very run down! The food is awesome and they arrange for a good safari. The place is not worth the money, if it were lot cheaper then maybe the traveller might not have complaints but the room was really good. As a package deal not worth the money.
The destination of the hotel was good. The hotel was located far away from the city. The appearance of the hotel was good. There was no delay in check in and checkout. The behaviour of staff’s was good in the hotel. The washroom was not good in the hotel. The service of the hotel was not good. The Wi-Fi facility was not good in the hotel. The food quality was not good in the hotel. The activities were arranged by the hotel. I had visited this hotel for family trip. Everything was nice in the hotel. I would suggest this hotel to improve the restaurant.
we had decided a short trip so we had been to bandipur.it was of a very short notice.so we were not much time to pic a hotel or resort.so we decided trough a travel agent we came across holiday iq.on the the first call itself it was so comfortable n they came to know our requirements so they opted windflower we decided to go with it as it was for just three days.but on seeing the resort we were filled with joy.on seeing the amenities it was like we at home we could utilize every thing.especially the kids they got swimming , carom chess place for cricket, bonfire with other guest it was fun filled joy.the food was good but can still improve .the guide they gave was the best moment he took us on a small hill and showed the tiger which we could not see in the jungle safari.the kids loved walking through the bushes and explaining the questions of all the kids.i have told few of my frnds about the trip and few from Coimbatore had also visited and even they njoyed.only complain was the veg n non veg food was served altogether which we did not like as we are pure veg.atlest it can be kept separately on another table.it was a memorable trip.thanks for all.
Had visited this place during Feb 2015 along with friends and families. Amenities are excellent. Beautiful and well furnished rooms. Beautiful interiors. Excellent support staff & Chef at Kitchen / Dining Room. Nice play area for the children. The above things are the only highlighting points Now for the worst areas we had to go through, 1) Windflower have their own range of toiletries and other related items, imagine our surprise and horror when they gave us Medimix Soap, no moisturiser , no shampoo, no comb reason - they were out of Stock as they could not access the number of guests who would drop in. what a crap excuse? 2) Pool is utter nonsense they might as well close it down. We could understand that it was a open pool and in a jungle. But not frogs spawning in the pool with threads of eggs in the pool. Management should take care of these issue. cover the pool so that frogs do not mate in a swimming pool. they do clean but what about the health side - Due to his our five children & adults also, who played in that pool had stomach upset, fever, loss of appetite and what not. Took us three days to recover. 3) As it was in a jungle the number of food spread was less. But please do add some items which kids love to eat. Only saving grace was the support staff in Dining area they made us feel very very comfortable 4) There was no CCTV in reception area - Are we compromising with security to save some bucks, definitely not worth 5) Front desk needs to update their knowledge. Our family had earlier visited WF Wayanad - Excellent in all terms WF Pondi - Excellent WF Bandipur - Complete let down Only Coorg is left out [Leaving Mysore], hopefully it is good.
The resort is verygood and well maintained. At front desk Prasad,,Mahesh and Premkumar in the dinng hall were really helpful and courteous.Roos are well maintained and the resort is situated in the forest but ofcourse NOT so thick forest where only one type of trees are seen.Chalet type rooms are alost independent of each other. The draw back is that there s NO WI FI /mobilles can not work. only alternative is to use front desk land line , complimentary.other draw bach is high tariff of rs 1450/- for a safari which needs to be reasonable.
This was a wild life resort. The resort was very good for a family relaxing holiday. This was near the border of the jungle. The outside view from the room was very beautiful. The ambiance was also very nice. The food was not very good. It was a very well maintained resort. I had not faced any problem during check in and checkout procedure. All the staffs were very helpful and very friendly. Front office staffs were very supportive. Cottages were as good as a 5 star room. All facilities were provided in the cottage. I would recommend this resort to others.
had gone there last year during may.....had a wonderful experience...it was like staying at home...the staff took very gud care of us...the fud was yummy....the safari itself was a unique experience..v culd spot many animals...but alas no tiger.....the swimming pool which overluks the jungle is fab...the best part no network..no tv....enjoy with family
We had a great stay in WIndflower resorts Bandipur. The food is very highly priced comparing the market standards. However, considering the location and the going market rate, this is perhaps acceptable. Positives: -Great staff who go out of their way to help you if you are travelling -Swimming pool is good with the concept of infinity pool brought in - Rooms are kept neat Improvements: - Create a children play area - Have the rooms plastered and painted as they dont seem new for the price we pay! - Deer grazing is a common in bandipur although i expected a bit more as the price is so high!!
About Bandipur :The resort tusker trails is located in the Bandipur National Park is part of the vast stretch of forests, spanning three states – Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala – which forms the protected area known as the “Nilgiri .It is located about 80 Kms south of Mysore, on the Ooty highway. Further south down this road lays the Madumalai sanctuary, in Tamil Nadu. The two are essentially the same stretch of forest, divided by the Moyer river gorge. About Resort :The is set up with the ethnic style of cottage arrangements .You get the experience of living in the forest and one should go with their family or with friends because there are many activities and fun included like trekking, library, wild safari trip, and watching wild life, and they even show a small video, camp fire etc . They have gypsies and a truck for safaris. While in the truck you get a better view, the gypsies are quieter and can go deeper into the jungle. The guides are very well trained and they show us everything perfectly and make us feel comfortable even. Food is very good and service too but gotta follow asset of rules like should not wear red and white color dresses coz animals don’t like and limited use of perfumes and after shave coz insects get attracted and as usual no smoking .It is a beautiful place to hang around and to get rid of the hassles we face in the cities like mobile phone and other communication because here they don’t work but we have a facility of telephone only near the reception .. But had an amazing time over there.
The overall experience was great. The resort setting blends with the forest and give your the feeling that you are in the midst of a forest. Lovely rooms to back it up. A great place for 2 days of relaxation. Caution though - Travel as a group to have fun. It could be isolated for a single family and unless you plan to join the monkey's who are everywhere there's nothing much that you can do by yourself. But a lot of fun as a group.
Bandipur and kabini are 2 most favored places to travel. This time being at the last moment the only availability was Tusker Trails. Not sure what to hope for left from hubli by train and then reached the resort by taxi. i also had the option of taking a bus either from a bus stand or even pvt. operator are also operating. these buses take around 2hr to 2.5 hr to reach the checkpost. I reached the resort at 10.00am and found to my surprise the resort was under renovation. lot of room were under construction. the only room available had construction going on near by. Being tired from train journey wanted some sleep, but was not able to due to the work going on. Other than the safari there was nothing available. My room was not very bad. The taps were leaking and the flush used to get stuck wasting lot of water. Coming back to my main reason for being there at Bandipur. I was there to enjoy wildlife and enjoy my hobby which is photography. i did enjoy it well with our driver Siddu, who is very good at the safari had sighting of Dhole and pug mark of tiger which we believe we missed by few minutes even though it was raining and cloudy. The Staff is very good and welcoming. Whatever i asked for was always available with a smile. Service was good.
This place is a good one for getting away from the noise of the city. Our room was looking out into the forest and we even had visits from a group of spotted deer. It felt like we are in the forest. The inside of the rooms are also well-designed and good. The resort GM is a very good human being, always asking about our comfort. We bathed in a swimming pool along-with a pair of monkeys too. so that was really amazing. I mean once can't be squeamish, but needs to see the larger picture.
My overall experience at this hotel was excellent as it was my relaxation trip with family. The hotel is located conveniently in the city and the surroundings and appearance was attractive and maintained hygiene and the staff were helpful and professional in services. The room allotted to me was very much spacious with all the amenities in working condition and had a beautiful temple view. The food provided was delicious with lots of varieties. There was no delay during sign in and sign out process and hotel is worth for the money which I spent.
