"Wow, what a hotel! I..."

Wow, what a hotel! I had thought that the Grand Hyatt was the best hotel in Mumbai but this one clearly beats the GH. The staff is totally empowered at every level. They treat every guest with a lot of care. I was accosted by two staff members are the junior most level while I was lugging my single sky bag across the lobby. They wanted to take my bag off my hands and carry it to the taxi to the airport. While having breakfast, a lady steward entertained my six-year-old son and offered him hot chocolate. A little later, she came back and checked. She asked my son if he had not enjoyed the hot chocolate as he was playing with it. Very genuine and very caring at all levels. None of the hotel staff accept tips and greet you with a hands joined namaskar. The gesture is similar to Thai hotels but the term used for greeting is not. This hotel takes its food very, very, very seriously. Not less than 14 chefs with very serious faces and a life-and-death attitude will be hovering like busy bees over the buffet just before breakfast, lunch and dinner. In fact, just looking at their worried faces almost gives you a headache. They want it just right. Not a whisker here or there regarding presentation and taste. The shushi range on offer is criminally awesome. The salads are doubly awesome. The mughlai is subtle. The north Indian stuff is toned down but tasty. I completely hold this hotel responsible for gaining two kilos in four days.

Best Experience: The room is a play on colour and taste. Beautiful place to spend time with your family. The area is less crowded than Bombay usually is.

Worst Experience: One steward during the dinner buffet promised to serve lemon at the table and then completely ignored the promise. For a hotel of this stature, these slip ups are not in order.

I hope this is about Trident at Bandra Kurla. Overall I liked the place, the food, the service.

Worst Experience: I was sharing this room with a colleague. What was very strange was that the bathroom had clear glass on the side facing the room. This provided complete visibility into the WC! Though there is a roll-up screen that you can get down, but that still leaves corners open! We had to request room service to tape bedsheets to the glass(which they did thankfully)... :) If you are not alone, this is definitely not comfortable.
