I had visited this hotel with my friends. The staff behaviour was very co-operative in the hotel. There was no delay in check-in and check-out process. It was a new building. The garden was available at the hotel. The food quality was nice in the hotel. The varieties of food were provided by the hotel. The activity was not arranged by the hotel.
We stayed here in November 2015. Its a very good property, courteous staffs, the manager was very helpful and kind. The rooms are neat and clean. The garden out there is wonderful and it has swing chairs etc here. It is away from the city and so is a peaceful place to stay. Overall experience in this place is good. It doesn't have much activities.
The ambience of the hotel was good. The hotel was situated in the hilltop and the climate was also fine. The service and other facilities provided was appreciable, there are three kinds of rooms and the tariff also varies accordingly. Overall it was a nice experience.
The stay was above what I expected. The hotel is maintained very well. Only problem from there is transport. Service by the staff is very good and amiable. I like their garden which was maintained very well. It was nice to sit and have breakfast in garden with fresh air. It would be good if travellers have their own vehicles. The autorikshaw people will charge you like Rs. 40-50/- per KM. I took a taxi from hotel for a day and their driver was also courteous to take us around the places. The only issue was there was no power backup in case of power cut(they said their backup was under repair). Overall, the hotel is a nice place to stay with friends and family
This is the first time we are coming to Ooty and not staying at Sherlock Hotel. The last 4 times we came to this hill station it was always the boutique hotel high up on the tiger hill road. Yantra Leisures from the pictures look good and main reason for booking this property was the open lawn with swing for my kiddo to play. Ambiance: The road to this property is pretty straight forward, though the GPS lost track for some time in the twists and turns but the property is merely 2 km from the main road. The entrance and the parking area of this property is very nice and gives a very good initial impression to first timers. The property is housed in some sort of a gated community so security is pretty good though no security guard was present at the main gate. Ample parking space followed by a nicely done reception area completes the initial impression. They currently have 13 rooms, 5 in the ground floor facing the lawn while the rest are on the first floor. The overall ambiance is really nice and would have been even better had the weather been good. This time the weather was cold, windy, and rainy. Other than the lawns and nice rooms, the flip side to this place is no proper restaurant area, you either need to eat inside your rooms or in the sit out on the lawns. Even the rooms are not really suitable for Ooty climate as the flooring is tiles which tends to get cold pretty soon. Service: The service during the week is probably managed via one at the most two bell boys. They keep running around with food or something else all over the property. This is not a very big concern and can be avoided with a proper eating area. The biggest lapse in the service is the issue with power. When you are running a hotel with charges that are beyond budget territory, the guests should not be facing power issues. We stayed 2 nights and both the nights there was no power from 11pm to 9am. I do not believe this is done by the municipality and seems to be a trick by the property. Even if it's not a trick by the property the place needs to have power backup. You can't expect your guests to use cold water early in the morning because there is no power to supply hot water. This is one the points that has brought the rating of the place down. Hence, until the power issue is sorted out I would not be recommending this place. Food: Food is at best average, they don't have anything fancy like Italian or continental but the rates are very high. 25 bucks for a cup of tea is outrageous. I would have properly understood the rates if it was 4 or 5 star property but for this property the food rates are not value for money. Even the taste is nothing great. For example, I asked for pepper chicken boneless and they do not have the same. Interesting when you can have the same dish with bones. Somehow the non-veg dishes are not cooked properly or they use skinned chicken, hence, I started avoiding them all together during the stay here. Recommended? No, not until they sort out the power and food issues.
