"Amazing and quiet place"

5.2/7
Posted 13 Jan

Stayed there only for a night, but this is really well managed cottage completely away from noise of any sorts. In the morning you will be woken up by chirping of different birds. There are coffee plants every where in the cottage. There is a provision of bonfire and the staff was friendly enough to light a bonfire for us even though it was quite late in the night. The guy who handles the cottage, pushkar, is an amazing cook and cooked yummy home made veg and non veg food for us. The rooms are decently sized, and different priced rooms get you different amenities, like our room did not have TV. Btw, there is barely any network coverage here, except for BSNL and Airtel. So don't plan any internet related activities here. Advice to hotel : Do give 2 towels, and keep toiletries in the bathroom.

"The food was excellent"

6.1/7
Posted 13 Jan, 2016

Booked two cottages which are nestled in a thrilling environment. The food was excellent. As it is located in the wilderness one can hear the blowing winds and each and every sound of nature clearly. Only drawback are the palm sized spiders and slugs who make their appearance every now and then making you jump around and yell. The names of the cottages Aran CA and Robusta was very fascinating.

"Warm welcome with good rooms, tasty food"

6.8/7
Posted 12 May, 2014

We were forewarned by the owners not to expect luxuries of a resort or even a homestay. Yadamakki Cottages was described as an estate stay, so we were mentally prepared. The tariff after all seemed very down-to-earth. But we didn't know we would get such a pleasurable experience staying there. We reached there by sunset. We were greeted warmly by the estate staff and shown into our cottages. We were four adults. The rooms were absolutely alright. The owners should not have been apologetic at all. Each cottage has a frontage, a room and a back patio leading to a bathroom. We asked for rice, dal, salad, mutton curry and plain curd for dinner. And what they cooked and brought to the table tasted simply awesome, thanks to the Himachali cooks who doubled as our caretakers. We spent a lazy morning lounging in the common area. Played some carom, walked a mile into the estate, had a good breakfast and left by noon. Make sure that you tell the caretakers about your time of arrival and meal preferences. Leave the rest to them. We wish we had at least one more day to spend there. The estate deserves a longer stay.

"Food is freshly prepared & served hot"

6.6/7
Posted 4 Feb, 2016

A real coffee estate. As they a call a plantation retreat. Very true, simple but good service, food service fine. Helpful staff, they guided us well in covering Coorg. We stayed in village hut rooms. Food is freshly prepared and served hot. The are 3 persons in the estate to assist us.
