Yelagiri Hills food, sight-seeing and shopping options
I had food in the resort I stayed and it was very homely. You have few nice options to have food. When you are out of your resort on site seeing, just explore yourself and you can find good places to have food. You have the small lake which has boating. You just have 2 options - Row boat / Pedal boat ride. So at the max you can spend 1 hour in this place. Since the area of this place is small, you can comfortably reach this lake within 10 mins from any resort. Opposite to the lake, you have the Nature park. I was stumped to see such a nice man made park at this place. The lawns, children play area, plants and trees, artificial water fountain were just too good. You can enjoy this place if you go out with your kids. There is a musical fountain in this park. They play this around 7 PM. If it rains, they don't play this. You have a nice little Murugan Temple (you can also walk from the lake to this place). It's a typical small village temple in a pretty small hill. The major activity you can have is the Treks. You can get assistance from the hotel you stay. There is also a Govt. Tourist department office, where you can get pamplets about the places to visit. You can shop pure Honey here and of course Jack fruits! If you are interested, you can buy plants in the nursery. But just check out what will happen to the pots when you wind down the hill. You don't get anything different from what you get in Chennai ECR nurseries. Just in case you want to remember Yelagiri whenever you see the little plant in your house, then buy a plant!

Hotel Review of Yelagiri Hills Country Club
Comments: yelagiri hiils on overall is nice place being very near to chennai.The resort was good and the service and the food was extremly good.The roms were spacious and the tarriff was cheap for the service they offer. The best place to stay with the family.
Best Experience: Easilly its the food especially the chinese was really nice and the kids enjoyed every bit of the stay.The staff was veri friendly and they organize a trek in the forest in the morning which is very refreshing.
Worst Experience: absolutlely nothing .

If you are looking for a hill station which is calm and away from crowd , then Yelagiri is the right choice . The big mistake I did was to select this resort to stay. They wanted the money to be transferred to some private account as advance , made us wait for 1 hour before giving the room ..the rooms were dirty .. the linens were not changed it seems , could not sleep well on the first day...

It was the worst ever holiday 'resort' that I have encountered. I was misled by the name 'country club' and the beautiful appearance which they project on their web site. I had booked 2 rooms for one night and was told that I had to pay the entire amount in advance. It was a shock to reach the hotel and see a dingy shed which they called as their front office and the rooms which we were shown were appalling....

The most unprofessional hotel experience that I have ever had. These guys completely destroyed my trust in my fellow human beings. Owing to the good experiences that I had with some of the previous resorts, I paid in full (1600 * 2 = Rs. 3200/-) for a two night stay at this place. But, the ’Resort’ turned out to be a place with less than basic facilities and no security. Not even backup power. Nothing that could justify the exorbitant...
