Yercaud is one of the most well known hill stations of Tamil Nadu, at a distance of 22 km from the city of Salem. These hills form a part of the Servarayan Range in the Eastern Ghats and are situated at an altitude of 1515 m above sea level. The area of these hills is also popular for coffee plantations and orange groves, along with an orchidarium, which is run by the Botanical Survey of India. The highest point at these hills is the site of the Servarayan Temple, due to which, these hills are also sometimes referred to as Shevaroy Hills. It is also home to the Murugar group of temples. The place also has a nearby lake, which is famous as a boating site, and also for its gardens.

Yercaud is the beauty of Salem, when you start driving or riding on the Yercaud road you will feel the bliss of nature giving more and more peace as you go up hill. Once you reached the top there is a lake and parks and several places for sightseeing.
Yercaud treats all class of people equally were all types of facilities are available for all sorts of people. And the important thing is you don't need to spend a lot for this beautiful, natural mesmerizing visit.

"Many beautiful attractions"

  • 6.00/7
  • Posted Sep 7, 2014
Best place to give a small tour. 2000 is enough to see all the places for a family by taxi. Taxi is available near the bus stand. Don't forget to go boating. Ladies seat, gents seat, Rose garden, patoka point are the main attractions. If you stay for 2 to three days, you can see many other beautiful places. Better to have a guide along with you if you are staying for long time.

"Its beautiful, thrilling"

  • 5.00/7

We just took a drive as it was raining. Driving in hairpin bends is thrilling. The scenery during dusk is overwhelming. Taking a horse ride is another experience. And the enchanting corn served half burnt is yummy. Mango with a touch of chilli and salt over it tastes good.
