About Yoga Narasimha Swamy Temple

Yoga Narasimha Swamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Yoganarasimha. Built on the Yadugiri rock, the temple overlooks the town of Melukote. The beautifully carved idol of Lord Yoganarasimha has been enshrined at the temple. It is believed that the deity was installed in the temple by Prahlada. According to legends associated with the temple, Lord Rama, Krishna and Balarama worshipped at the temple in different time zones.

There is a Sanskrit Pathashala inside the temple that dates back to 1853. Tourists are provided accommodation in and around the Mathas. The Narasimha Jayanthi is one of the major festivals celebrated in the temple. To reach the temple, tourists can board bus or shared auto-rickshaw from Mandya, K.R. Pet, Nagamangala and Pandavapura.
