HolidayIQ reviewer Krishna Kudapa shares “ This is a Holy Shrine of Goddess Maha Lakshmi on top of a hill 14 KM from Katra. We can reach there by multiple ways like Helicopter, trek, pony and Doli. The climb is a steep one for almost 11 KM and plain path for the rest 3 KM. I suggest take a pony ride up and trek down. Pony ride costs you 1600-1800 both ways. And 800-900 one way. Do not forget to collect the ID card of the pony boy and keep it with you till you return back down. We had almost 2 feet snow when we visited on 16-01-17 and was very chill but the experience was awesome. Temple does not allow darshan from 5-8 pm otherwise it is open 24 hrs.”

HolidayIQ reviewer Pramilla Kulkarni shares “Haridwar is beautiful. I did not go there specifically for religious reasons. I just wanted to see the Mother River, Ganga, the old buildings and temples. I had mixed reactions to the place. While the entire atmosphere of the city is steeped in religion, the first reaction I felt when I saw the river Ganga was, WOW! The people are friendly and helpful. The main areas are crowded. But the main religious attractions are surprisingly good. Especially the cable cars to the Mansa devi and Chandi devi temples. Har ki Pauri in the evenings is a delight.”

I remembered someone had once told me that prime places of worship have a distinct energy level. Here, one can feel it. Absorb it. Soak in it. The sea embraces. The Temple captivates. The people endear. The place truly greets one with smiling open arms and fills one with unspoken warmth. “

HolidayIQ reviewer Natrajan Balakrishnan shares “My wife and I had a wonderful and peaceful darshan of Amman and Lord Shiva. The Temple towers (gopurams) really fascinated us. The only sad part for me was seeing the age old art on display at the 1000 pillar mandapam (now also temple art museum) defaced with people having scribbled their initials on them. But all in all. Wonderful visit. “
