Are you one of those, who prefer trips which come with a tinge of an adrenaline rush? If not, this blog is not meant for you. But if you are, here are some of the most remarkable experiences that you can indulge in on the sandy regions and deserts of India. From heart-thumping desert safaris to exciting hot air ballooning, this blog covers all.

HolidayIQ reviewer Janak Mistry talks about Hunder Sand Dunes, "Bounded by two of the world's mightiest mountain ranges, the Great Himalaya and the Karakorum Himalaya, it is a high-altitude desert located at the western edge of the Tibetan plateau which makes it unique and beautiful in its own way. Isolated settlements of green oases full of swaying poplar trees, apricot orchids and cultivated farmland make it extraordinary despite the rugged terrain."

HolidayIQ reviewer Subodh Bisht says, "Somehow we reached Hunder Village after riding approximately 140kms. We stayed overnight there in camps which was a wonderful experience. In the morning, we started riding our bullets and reached sand dunes, had a bactrian camel ride which is a famous attraction of Hunder valley."

HolidayIQ reviewer Anand Tejuja shares about Sam Sand Dunes, "The sunset view is magnificent. After sunset, the cultural evening with local dance and food in the tent area cannot be missed. Suggest staying in those tents." HolidayIQ reviewer Vijay adds in, "Fun and adventure lovers will enjoy the jeep ride on the sand dunes or a drift drive on muddy roads. Make the best of the off-roads. Beautifully well-maintained tourist spot."

HolidayIQ reviewer Umesh says, "Jeep Safari was a great experience. The driver was aptly experienced with the roads (all ups and downs on the sand dunes). One hour just flew by. Camel safari experience is also one of its kind. However, we choose camel cart due to our kid's safety which was very comfortable as compared to a direct camel ride."

3. Rann of Kutch: A drive-through dry desert and a biosphere reserve

HolidayIQ reviewer Apoorva Bhardwaj gives a vivid description of her experience, "The Rann of Kutch has stood the testimony of time for centuries now, with ancestral heritage ruins and ancient deserts that refuse to acknowledge worldly rhythms. Barren land for miles, Rann of Kutch has an old world appeal with virgin territories spanning as far as one can see and quaint, beautiful villages that exist in oblivion."

Apoorva highly recommends the Lesser Rann, "I have to admit I highly underestimated the Little Rann as I had no idea what to expect from this place. A potential Biosphere reserve, the Little Rann is rich in biodiversity and considered to be the last reserve for wild asses all over the world, having a population of over 5000 wild asses, Nilgais, foxes, wolves, etc."

After providing an apt introduction she manoeuvres us towards the Eco camp, "The route to Eco camp is tricky but worth the detours! The evening safari is an absolute must do! The jeep drives you into the depths of the desert and gives an amazing opportunity to capture wildlife at its best. Sunsets over the lesser Rann are brilliant."

HolidayIQ reviewer Muktaman shares, "Khuri sand dunes are slowly picking up in the must visit charts of tourists. It is a peaceful place with houses of mud and straw decorated like the patterns of Persian carpets." HolidayIQ reviewer Karnail Singh adds, "Moreover, the scene of the sunset was just like a phantom in the sky."

HolidayIQ reviewer Debarati Basu shares a vivid description, "Camel rides to the desert, rolling down the soft sand dunes, seeing the sun set behind the dunes leaving a orange-crimson hue all over, dancing up an appetite around the bonfire, gobbling down freshly cooked food, chatting and dancing around the bonfire again till the stars completely light up the sky (a sight so gorgeous you have to stop all other activity and just stare!). Rolling out our beds and snuggling under the comfortable quilts to gaze at all the beauty above, dozing off in the peaceful silence, waking up to see the sun rise, sipping on our morning cuppa. In one word: Mesmerizing! While the experience seems a little scary, it actually isn't."

HolidayIQ reviewer Mohd Asif shares, "One has to attend Pushkar festival if you are interested in rural life and fun. You will be able to see a lot of camels and Marwari horses along with local games like kabaddi, kho kho, camel and horse racing and dance. Apart from that balloon riding and a cultural performance by the renowned artists, there is much to explore and it's worth visiting there."

HolidayIQ reviewer Ajeet Singhaniya says, "Pushkar lake is just awesome. The whole city looks beautiful due to the lake. One thing about Pushkar that's special is, 'Pushkar Fair' which is world's largest camel festival-fair. From camel selling, buying to matka podi games, it has everything. On full moon night, the city looks stunning, as celebration takes place with start of Pushkar Fair."
