HolidayIQ reviewer Diptakirti Chaudhuri says, "Located on the bend of Kaveri river, the activities here include both land (treks, ziplining etc) and water (boat rides and kayaking) activities. There are overnight packages, day packages - whatever suits you and a short drive from Bangalore (2.5 hours) makes it perfect for a weekend getaway.

2. Skandagiri: Experience the feeling of walking above the clouds

HolidayIQ reviewer Haris Sumair says, "My friends planned a trek to Skandagiri hills, people told us that its a place which gives you 'goosebumps' and 'chills'. We were excited...we rented a bus..... reached Bellary road and started our trek on foot. It was very tiring but trust me guys, the view at the sunset was amazing, you will not regret scaling the hills at all ."

3. Avalabetta: A paradise for nature lovers to watch the sunset

HolidayIQ reviewer Lijo Varghese says, "Morning is the best time to visit there. The view of the sunset amidst the rock was just awesome. We went in a bike till the top. But recently I came to know that vehicles are not allowed. We need to park some 2km before and walk till there. Avalabetta is about 100 km from Bangalore.

4. Mekedatu: To enjoy coracle boat rides

HolidayIQ reviewer Suhasinigk says, "We went to Mekedatu on a bike trip from Bangalore. The place was very beautiful with scenic surroundings. A small river has to be crossed in order to reach the other side of the bank and you must take a bus to the hilltop where you can witness the wonderful river Kaveri flowing through a deep and narrow gorge. There is a coracle service that helps us cross the river."

HolidayIQ reviewer Nivedha Selvaraj says,  "Hidden in a small village in Anantapur, Lepakshi is a culturally and archaeologically significant place. Built during Vijayanagara period, the priceless Veerabhadra Swamy Temple in Lepakshi is perched on a tortoise-shaped hill called the Kurma Saila. The architecture dates back to 16th century and is a feast for art and history lovers."
