HolidayIQ Reviewer Nilanjana Ghosh adds, “The legendary lord Jagannath temple - Must visit place in one's lifetime. The temple is huge and worth a visit! It's better to visit early in the mornings before 9 am when the rush is low. One can take a Panda or go alone. You needn't spend much to travel to this temple. Please note that one is not allowed to carry any food, other than milk and banana and no shoes or camera or phone. You have to deposit all before entering. So it's better not to carry your phone and camera and keep them in your hotel. Security will check you thoroughly. One has to wash their leg and enter the temple premises. Entering is free. There are various small temples of different deities inside the main temple premise. ” Read Full Review

HolidayIQ Reviewer Asis Das shares, “A great heritage temple with a shabby outer appearance, stringent dress code but formidable appeal. This is my third visit to this great temple of Dravidian architecture in last twenty-five years. In fact, one visiting Thiruvananthapuram cannot think about missing this place. I heard recently that a great treasure of gold and silver artifacts have been retrieved by the authorities inside the temple and has been kept under control under the supervision of the apex court. But this large temple has a very stringent dress code to enter into it.” Read Full Review

HolidayIQ Reviewer Abhijit Sarkar says, “One of the most ancient temples with many myths attached and everyone's favorite "god" Nand Lal who came to this side of Indian soil from Mathura and developed a place of gold. The original glitter is untraceable but the believes have been left behind in this temple. The temple areas are as usual full of markets. The outdoor/courtyard area is quite clean with locker facilities/toilet facilities. Nonchargeable (your donation accepted). No mobile/camera/big bags allowed, once inside. ...Take a guide (panda) inside the temple at a cheap rate of Rs 100/-:(are actually poojaris) to recollect the history of Krishna Lila + privileged darshan from side at the right time (witness the opening of darpan/curtain after some break after darshan closes time to time)Read Full Review
