HolidayIQ Reviewer mukesh jarial says, “Lansdowne is also a cantonment area for Garhwal Regiment. When I reached in Lansdowne city I see army personals marching and doing daily exercise side of the roads. The view of the mountains was very beautiful and graceful. The chilling breeze was blowing everywhere. There were lots of place to visit, i.e. Tipni Top, Bhim Pakora, Tiger Den, Old Churches and lots more. Lansdowne is basically an ideal place to have long and long walks, trekking, and camping. Peoples can experience wildlife in nights, can do fire camping, and there are lots of things to do.Read Full Review

Hill | Sunset | Mall Road | Nature

HolidayIQ Reviewer Anukampa Rawat adds, “Kasauli..why the name reminds me of the dry fruit Chiraunji-I cannot say. But it is just as lip-smacking! A quaint little hill station in Himachal Pradesh- Quiet, unadulterated and far from the madding crowds (unlike its more popular, crowded counterpart- Simla). It is a cantonment town and therefore devoid of the litter we (not me) contribute to so shamelessly otherwise. Besides the ample offer of the lush and green vistas of the hills, the place beckons to you to walk, walk and then walk some more.” Read Full Review

HolidayIQ Reviewer Subha Sreenivasan says, “Pine Mountains with Peaches and Litchis, Ranikhet is a quiet, sleepy cantonment town covered with misty clouds and a pleasant weather. A perfect place if you prefer a peaceful and a laid-back holiday gazing away at the mountains and the semi-circular step farms etched along its slopes.” Read Full Review

Hill | Nature | Sunset | Forest

HolidayIQ Reviewer Piyush Parikh shares, “Pachmarhi is a hill station in Satpura ranges surrounded by thick forests. ...It’s a very calm and quiet hill station and unlike hills of north, its not having that height and hence its not that cold too (Pretty reasonable weather, never felt the need of woolens except one on high altitude during sightseeing in late evening, kids may need a bit of protection) & thankfully it doesn’t have any Mall Road! The whole area comes under cantonment and so too much commercialization is not there…Read Full Review

This place is a military cantonment and hence entry of the foreigners are restricted. ...Places to visit are Tiuni(around 3 hours), Deoban(around 40 mins) and Tiger Falls(around 1. 5 hours). On the return try the road from Chakrata to Mussorie. The road parallel to Yamuna river is awesome and must visit. Good hotel in Chakrata is Hotel Snowview. HolidayIQ Reviewer Arnav Mathur adds, “One of the compelling reasons to visit Shillong, was to visit the cleanest village in Asia - Mawlynnong, which is also around 3-4 hour drive away from Shillong. Like Cherrapunji, Mawlynnong also boasts of having a living root bridge, but a single layer one. Having seen many army cantonments throughout my life, my first opinion about Mawlynnong, on my first glance was that it looks like a well-maintained army cantonment, which is remarkable, considering that all the work is done by the villagers themselves, and the villagers maintain proper cleanliness too.Read Full Review
