From expansive tea estates to blossoming forests, Ooty has a lot to offer. While Botanical Garden is known for housing rare species of flora and fauna, Ooty Lake is a nice picnic spot. Doddabetta Peak is one of the highest points in the vicinity. Most kids love riding the Nilgiri Mountain Railway.

Located in the Beas River Valley, Manali is known for captivating landscape, beautiful orchards and snow capped mountains. Definitely, visit the Hadimba Temple located amidst a cedar forest. At Snow Point, aka Solang Valley you can enjoy snorkelling, zorbing, hot air balloon rides, snow rides and more.

A hill station developed by the Americans, Kodaikanal is a recluse from the crowded city life. La Salette Church is the oldest shrine while Berijam Lake is a famous lake. Bear Shola falls, Palni Hills and Pillar Rocks hosts picturesque views.

It is the epicentre of all activities in the city - boating, cycling, motorcycling, Horse riding and marketing. HolidayIQ reviewer Ravinath says, "Mall road has innumerable shops and restaurants to suit everyone's taste. But the shops at some of the points like Kempty Falls also offer value for money. The drive to Tehri Dam takes more than 2 hours and one needs to take special permission to visit the actual dam."

You can go for paragliding before reaching Nakkuchiya Tal. Saat Taal is a good and peaceful location for boating."

Tanushree lists out the important places that you shouldn't miss, "Places that should be visited are Naini Lake, Mukteshwar, Jim Corbett and mall road. Have your food on the Mall road itself. If you want to just relax and enjoy the climate you can just walk the mall road. Or else hire a car and visit snow view point or caves garden. Or just do boating and relax."
