HolidayIQ Reviewer Chandranath Shirwaiker adds, “This island was the first one to be visited among the three we visited during the tour. The ship M V KAVARATTI, by which we were travelling during this SAMUDRAM tour, arrived early morning and stayed away from the shore as the island can be reached by small boats only. This was built by a French company and has prism arrays to convert the lamp light to a beam visible over 20 km. There are displays taking one over the development over a century of existence from the wick kerosene lamp to present halogen lamp. Also, the Geo, positioning system with INMARSAT and other satellites is in position. One then moves to the resort with the lagoon and enjoy kayaking, swimming, water sports, scuba diving.” Read Full Review

HolidayIQ Reviewer Prashant Shitole adds, “Nice beach with some water activities We went on a pretty long weekend. The beach was overcrowded may be due to holiday connected with weekends. Parking is quite good and sufficient though. There are many food stalls (fish fry especially) and restrooms for having the bath after some play around and some water activities. There are boats taking you to the islands see from beach, parasailing and other adventures which are little expensive compared to other beaches I visited so far (maybe since it's just team that operates this). Overall, good arrangement for tourists on a beach including life savers keeping a close look on all. Location wise the beach is hardly 2-3 km from the main highway. Cheers!” Read Full Review

HolidayIQ Reviewer Khushnaz Khambata says, “Shivaji's Majestic Sea Fort Sindhudurg fort sits just off the coast of Malvan in the sea. To visit the fort, one needs to take a boat from Malvan jetty - it is a 10 to the 15-minute boat ride to the fort. Once there, you have one hour to visit the fort, which we thought was too rushed a visit, it would've been better to have 2-3 hours to do justice to the fort; unfortunately, the same boat that brought you here takes you back to Malvan jetty, so you have to ensure you are back to catch the boat in one hour. The only temple dedicated to Shivaji is found within its walls. There are also some operators conducting scuba and snorkelling around the fort. Cost for a boat from Malvan jetty to Sindhudurg fort - Rs 50 return fare. ” Read Full Review
