The Roop Kund Trek leads to the infamous Roop Kund or mysterious skeletal lake in Uttarakhand. Crossing ice and snow, ascending to a dizzying height of 16,000 ft, thin air, changing climate and hailstorms, make reaching Roop Kund one of the toughest. Try taking a selfie here. HolidayIQ Traveller Pramod Kumar says, “The way to Gopeshwar is full of adventure. There are many moments when you pray to reach there safely.”

Rohtang means pile of corpses, a name that stems from the deadly mudslides that often cover the 4,000 m-high road in the Himalayas. Rohtang’s unpredictable weather, snowstorms and avalanches add to the danger factor. HolidayIQ traveller Vishal says, "A very exciting and adventurous place in Manali. The snow at Rohtang and the beautiful road leading to it from Manali is a must go. And most important is one should go in peak season to feel the complete holiday, the crowds, the hustle & bustle of the place which may not be there if you go in off season."

The road between Kishtwar and the base camp of Kishtwar Kailash is one of the scariest roads in the world. Located in the Kishtwar District of Jammu & Kashmir, the road in some places is only wide enough for one vehicle, and in many places bordered on one side by cliffs and on the other side by a drop of hundreds of meters into the valley unprotected by guard rails. Fancy a selfie here?
