Land at the 2,500 m runway of the Lengpui airport, which is unique as it has many hilly streams running underneath. The airport is one among the three airports in India that has a table top runway, which creates an optical illusion.

HolidayIQ reviewer Dharmender Singh says, “The nearest airport to Mizoram is Lengpui airport. To enter Mizoram by any means inner line permit is required. At airport ILP counter is there were ILP is issued on arrival.”

Prarthana tells HolidayIQ why she likes Aizwal, "I have no words to explain the awesome experience I had in the capital of Mizoram, Aizawl. It feels really good to see that such a peaceful, clean and friendly environment exists in India. Best thing I would like to tell everyone one is the traffic discipline you'll see. No unnecessary honking!! People are so down to earth and humble. I will suggest everyone who as a vacation plan to have a trip to this beautiful state with all greenery."

2. The highest airport in the country, Leh

Land at the Kushok Bakula Rimpochhe Airport, Leh, which is one of the highest airports in the world at 3,256 m (10,682 ft) above sea level.

HolidayIQ reviewer Jayesh from Kolkata says, "Leh is beautiful and is known as the cold desert. Drass, the second coldest place in the world, and Khardungla, known as the world’s highest motorable road, are a must visit. Things that one should not miss while in Leh - Lamayuru, Thiksey Monastery, double-humped camels at Hunder, sand dunes, Diskit Monastery, Shyok River and shopping in Leh.”

Rahul suggests HolidayIQ travellers take their family to Pangong lake in Leh because, "Very close to nature, vast lake, beautiful experience, enjoyed the view with family. Caught some cool pics in my DSLR, the climate is moderate."

Surrounded by nothing but the Indian Ocean, the 4,000-foot-long Agatti Airport runway is so random and petite that it could pass off as a piece of a larger runway lost at sea. The airport is the only one in Lakshadweep - an Indian Union Territory comprising 36 exotic islands located off of the southwestern coast of India and sits on the island of Agatti.

HolidayIQ reviewer Gautam Barman says, Agatti is a small island and hence, one can enjoy the sea, the lagoons, and the beach. You can go to Bangaram and enjoy a full day there. It is about an hour’s journey by boat. Make sure that the permit and formalities are taken care of beforehand.”

Sachin, HolidayIQ reviewer, tells HolidayIQ, "The destination is awesome. I have enjoyed a lot. There is lots of sports activity. You can have good quality time with your family. Far away from metro city fast life. People are good and helpfull in nature. You can plan for minimum 03 days for the Agatti island. "

4. On a cut mountain top, Jubbarhatti Airport, Shimla

Marvel the sight of the mighty Himalayas while landing at Shimla Airport, located in Jabarhatti, 23 kilometers from Shimla. The airport was constructed by cutting down a mountain top and levelling the area to form the single runway. The small apron has space for two small aircrafts to park simultaneously.

Swaralipi, HolidayIQ reviewer says, "Shimla is very good hill station. The Shimla airport serves as the most comfortable connector of the beautiful hill station with rest of India. Located at Jubbarhatti, Shimla airport is about 23 km from Shimla city."

Gaurav calls his trip to Shimla a perfect family holiday destination, "Shimla is cooler than plains and we can reach by train too. Lots of things to do like heritage walk, flower lawns etc. I found Institute of Advanced Study is the best place to visit in Shimla. Kufri is good for kids. Mall road walk is good for kids who love to run. Overall good experience."

Get your kids excited by presenting them the feeling of landing on top of the Arabian sea at Goa International Airport, more commonly known as Dabolim Airport, located in the city of Dabolim. It is one of the most beautiful airports in India. It offers a breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea

HolidayIQ reviewer Nikhil says, “Airport of Goa is marvellous in its own. It has cafes and shops to keep the passengers busy but the items are quite expensive.”

Rachana says Goa is an excellent family destination, "The vacation in Goa was amazing, sand surf beach. Went to escape the cold of Himachal. My kids and us had an amazing stay there. We rented a car by the day and went to all beaches from south to north. The best time to visit Goa would be February with the rates cheap and the weather nice though it gets a bit hot for us during the day. Goa is a fun place and can be visited every year. I hope to come visit Calangute again and ill always remember the people the cleanliness and the fun. The water sports are there too in case if u want it. But as we had kids (2 and 7) we opted to laze on the beach. love Goa and Goans."
