Don't sleep in and drive down to Church Street for your 200th late lunch. Hit the highway. Located between the Shivanasamudra Falls and Mekedatu Falls on River Cauvery, Bheemeshwari is a small town about 100 km from Bangalore. Try your hand at fishing or just camp away. It's also a great place for trekking and boating.

Lazing around the weekend or meeting up friends? Please. Head to Shivanasamudra. Situated on the banks of River Kaveri, this small town is 130 km from Bangalore and is known for the waterfalls. Don’t let distance stop you.

Surendra: The location of resort is bang on Cauvery River bank and quite convenient to visit nearby ancient temples like Talakadu, Somanathapura and waterfalls like Shivanasamudra. Home made kind of food and 90% of items tasted good. No complaints on that.

3. Kunti Betta

What better than going for a night trek? Head to Kunti Betta, just 130 km from Bangalore. A night trek is one of the most popular activities here.

4. Yelagiri Hills

If you haven't done it, do yourself a favour and get yourself there. The Yelagiri hills are spread over an area of 30 km at an altitude of 3500 ft. Yelagiri hills have some well known trekking trails, some smaller peaks are Javadi Hills and the Palamathi Hills.

The place is lovely with a beautiful curves on the road while going up about 14 km. With greenery all around on the hills, a lake with boating facility. A park for the children near the lake. There are few walking trails, a Shiva temple on one of the hills etc. We had a lovely weekend with beautiful weather and a wonderful drive from and to Bangalore.”

Most of the road till you turn on the Lepakshi Road is a superb 4 lane highway. We stopped at India Paratha Company just before Nandi Hill road. You can stop there for amazing breakfast.”
