Starting from President office, Parliament, World Trade Center which houses Board of Investment, Gems Associations, Air Lines offices etc. You can ride on the open top bus for Colombo. Ministry of Crabs is heaven for seafood lovers. Opposite to Fort Railway station you land in the local market. The best place to taste the street food and buy fresh fruits. You can enter into any barber shop and enjoy the face massage...You can get to privately run or state-run buses to travel countryside from Fort bus station. We were taken to the highest point in Hongkong by train, which will go step by 70 degrees. Atop wax museum is there were wax statues of Mahatma, bill Clinton, queen victoria, bruce lee. My hotel was just 5 mins walk from this beach and most of my evening I enjoyed walking on the beach. Interestingly it provides surfing on the beach (No idea about the pricing). It is located around 12km from the city.
