Punctuated with formidable forts, Kerala is a history buffs dream come true. Spreading over 40 acres, Bekal fort is the largest fort in Kerala and was constructed in the 17h century purely for defence purposes.

If you want incredible views with your dose of history, this is the place as you can enjoy views of nearby areas such as Kanhangad and Pallikere from the observation tower of the fort. You can also spot the tunnel that opens towards the south and the famous water tank with a flight of steps.

When it comes to hill stations too, Kerala has something for everybody. From the lush tea plantations of Munnar and the dreamy valleys of Wayanad to the spicy aroma infused breeze of Idukki and the relative solitude of Gavi- you just can’t go wrong with any of these!

If you’re done with the usual, you can acquaint yourself with the tribal way of life in Peerumedu or trek through the Chelikandam forest in Ayyampuzha, all the way to the mesmerizing Athirapally falls.
