The bus was an AC bus by MTC the punctuality at the boarding point was not that much bad but the punctuality at the destination was very poor, even though it was an ECR ride but the driving was not that much appreciatable.
And in meanwhile the bus condition was very worst the a/c was not working properly

The bus was a non A/c bus. It didn't have proper seating, with many stops. It was over crowded. It stopped at some hotel for tea, the hotel wasn't good and it was stinking. The bus was old and was so loud it was noisy. You cant even take a nap. It took around 4 hours to reach there. Only good thing was that the price was very low. It was around 90 Rs.

The schedules as printed are quite frequent every 15-20 minutes in main routes. But unable to maintain the timings due to chaotic traffic. The staff behavior is very rough. Conductor sits in his place and you have to get the ticket even when jam packed during peak hours. But it is not so at all times. The buses are reasonably well-maintained with not many break downs.

I travelled to Silchar from Shillong by a non-AC bus. It's like heaven on earth Meghalaya because this place is one of my favourite place. I would love to spend and waste my time for this beautiful place. Amazing view while moving on road and this place is one of the most favourite places of my life. I always come when I get the chance to come to Meghalaya. During the rainy season Meghalaya is too good, everyone should visit the Meghalaya once in a lifetime for watching the natural beauties.

One can board the bus from Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) or Thiruvanmiyur. Bus fare and AC bus quality was good. It was a comfortable journey and the route was East Coast Road (ECR), so one will have good sightseeing. Try to sit on the left side of bus, on the side of the door so that you can have a good view.

We travelled in AC bus which was comfortable. Bus was having big windows which helped us in site seeing.
It was an one hours fifteen minutes journey from Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus to Mahabalipuram. We boarded the bus at 7.30 and reached Mahabalipuram at nine. As it was an AC bus we didn't felt any tiredness.

Buses from CMBT, Chennai to Pondy leave every hour. So, no real issues there. Took the bus on 31th Dec at around 5pm, bus being filled with college students who were heading to Pondy for the new years made the bus journey pretty good. Took around 5 hours, which is a little higher than the usual. But it was more so because of the bus being a little crowded.

Stayed at this place for New Years with a friend, given the affordable tariff of the hotel, it was surely above par when compared to the other hotels nearby. Easily the best place to stay near the Rock Beach. Pretty comfortable rooms, perfect if you're looking to roam around the city and need a...more »
