It is said the "Taste of result is best tasted if the journey is good". Bus journey was average because of the bus quality else the scenic beauty was awesome. The long laid sea is visible from the bus. Really nice to visit via road transport preferable by taking own car.
It was overall a good journey. The bus condition was so so but we enjoyed a lot. I was enjoying the views from the bus and was travelling on the narrow roads and it was quite a thrill. It was a good trip whenever it starts mountain area. Snake roads and terrible turns and you will get your bowls in the mouth. The most comfortable way to travel is to board early morning bus.
There are more hotels available close to railway station in Manali area but this one is value for money, clean and easy to approach. You can reserve in Ginger Hotel. Another way is to do this journey without staying overnight and save time is to take a bus.
It was a good journey for me as I went with my family. We opted for Puducherry Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) AC bus. The bus was very clean and hygienic. You can feel like sitting at home with no delays and very good timing. Fare was also up to the mark. There was newspaper facility, distilled water facility also.
There are no private bus service from Ludhiana to Dharmshala directly. So you have to take Punjab Roadways Transport Corporation (PRTC). It took near about 6 hr. However you can get Volvo AC buses from Chandigarh, Sec-19 bus stand and you can also get Himachal Padh Parivahan bus (state bus service) from Sec-43 ISBT Inter State Bus Terminus (bus stand). State bus service are AC buses and they are also cheaper than Volvo.
The journey becomes more beautiful especially when you travel in the evening. The mountain views are eye catching. Dharmshala is really a beautiful place. You have to visit there once.
Last bus from Ludhiana departs at about 3.30 pm and from Chandigarh at about 5 pm.
Traveling by ordinary bus is little bit cumbersome. It is very long journey but we broken our journey in parts. Did Devi Darshan at Maa Jawala then went to Maa Chintpurni. Then went to Kangra ji and finally reached at the spot. Do not carry heavy baggage if travelling by bus.
If you are in Pondicherry then the best way to travel is by bus as they are punctual. Itís a nice travel experience in Pondicherry Road Transport Corporation (PRTC). Even if you are travelling in a non AC PRTC bus also itís absolutely fine. AC bus takes half an hour less to reach Pondicherry as compared to non-AC bus. Among the AC bus kindly select push pack buses for your comfortable journey and its worth it.
I boarded the bus from ISBT, Delhi and it costs Rs 520 to Mohali for AC bus. Journey was comfortable, as I travelled during night and was tired, slept sound and woke up at Chandigarh Sec -17, ISBT. Total journey took around 5 hours.
First suggestion is never go by train from Chennai to Pondicherry. Always go by bus and ask the bus conductor if it goes by bypass then donít board in those buses. Board only on ECR buses else you will miss the ECR scenic beauty.
While passing through ECR it was like heaven. Road along the sea beaches. Carry you eatables. Itís just 3 and half hour journey so no problem at all but carry your drinking water itís advisable.
Lots of bus options are there but SETC is the best in both non AC as well as AC category. So if you get SETC bus luxury one go for it. Fare is mere 20 rupees more than the simple buses.
We all take the bus from Inter State Bus Terminals (ISBT) Delhi and after entering in the bus we were so happy because inside the bus we felt as if we are in a plane. The bus had a TV and seats were very comfortable and the staff were also good. While travelling they served us food and also some drinks.
This is a nice premium bus service of Puducherry Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) and it has nice facilities. The bus is great and comfortable and has all the multi axle facilities too. The bus is fully air conditioned and it was a joy ride from Chennai to Pondicherry. I got down at the bus stand and hire an auto which charged 50 Rs to the beach which is a normal rate over there.
