We had booked out tickets on paytm for a friday night boarding to Gokarna. The bus picked us up from our pickup point and then we boarded the bus for the journey at Majestic.
The condition of the bus was good. The way to Gokarna is through a lot of hills and valleys, making it an enjoyable one. However, you don't get to see too many thing as it's a night journey. The roads felt good, except for the fact that it's all twisty and curvy.
The buses stop twice on the way, so options for dinner is always ON. The journey is approx 9 hrs, excluding the time taken by the pickup van. The arrival to the destination was on time.
I would advise to book your resort in advance - the best of the options are on the Kudle beach. Take an auto from the bus stand to Kudle beach (150 Rs).

Located on the Kudle beach in Gokarna, this is a cottage that has nothing much to offer but is an excellent choice if you don't want to spend a hefty amount on holiday hotels. The cottages are well- maintained with Western style toilets. Charges are around 600/ 24 hrs. It very peaceful and you...more »
Bus usually takes average 12 hours. Unfortunately we opted Sea bird travels which took us almost 16 hours to reach from Bangalore to Goa! However, while coming its Sugama Travels which is good quality and maintained punctuality.
My suggestion is not to opt for bus to Goa but in case if you opt for it due to budget problem. Do not opt for Seabird Travels since it consumes lots of time and your patience.
We were about 28 people on a trip. So we had booked 20 sleepers and 8 seaters. But we got only 15 sleepers and rest 5 had to travel in seater. It was badly managed by the travel agency. Sleeper was not of great quality. Bed-sheets were dirty and not washed.
Bus quality is good and the seats are comfortable. The staff might be not cooperative and they drive a bit rash. One of the worst part of the journey was no proper mid journey stops for passengers to freshen up and go to toilet. The bus driver stopped in middle of no where and the women passengers were asked to go in the open for toilets. Bus might have small cockroaches depended upon when was the last pest treatment done.
Good service by bus operator. Timely departure and arrival. Due to bad roads from Mangalore the travel is bit uncomfortable for night travel. One needs to lose their sleep at night due to bad roads. For the time being train may be a better option to travel to Bangalore.
