Darjeeling: Perched in the foothills of the Himalayas lies the legendary hill station of West Bengal, 90 km from Bagdogra. It is famous for its once magnificent tea estates and is a favourite vacation spot among the people of the eastern states. Some of the places to visit in Darjeeling include the Yiga Choeling Monastery in Ghoom, the Museum of Natural History, the Llyod Botanic Garden, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and the Darjeeling-Ranjit Valley ropeway.
Kalimpong: A small but bustling town that's nestles in the Himalayan foothills of West Bengal, 80 km from Bagdogra, Kalimpong is famous for its monasteries, churches and a private library for the study of Tibetan and Himalayan languages. One can enjoy a laid-back holiday here simply enjoying the cool weather, the views of the Kanchenjunga, and going for leisurely walks in the hill-side.
Gangtok: Nestled in the lush greenery of the Himalayas lies Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. It is 127 km (5 hours by road) from Bagdogra airport. There are also helicopter services connecting Bagdogra and Gangtok. Places to visit in Gangtok include Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok and the Tashi View Point from where you get some of the most amazing views of the Kanchenjunga, Mt. Siniolchu and other snow-clad peaks. Gangtok is the gateway to other fascinating tourism destinations in Sikkim.
Pelling: A small hill-station situated in the state of Sikkim, Pelling is renowned for its natural and scenic beauty. Pelling offers a great view of the entire eastern Himalayan mountain ranges and has thickly wooded forests. There is a lake, and many interesting monasteries to visit in the area. About Bagdogra Bagdogra is located about 16 km from the city of Siliguri in West Bengal.
It serves as an important airport both for military and civil purposes.
The Bagdogra airport is a major travel hub in the region with flights
arriving from Kolkata, New Delhi and Guwahati. Thousands of tourists alight here each month, headed towards the hill stations of and Darjeeling,Kalimpong, and to Pelling and Gangtok in Sikkim. The area in which Bagdogra is situated is commonly called the Dooars at the foothills of the eastern Himalayas.
It is rich in natural beauty and abounds in exotic flora and fauna.

plantations here. The Teesta is the main river flowing through here,
