The Church of St John the Baptist on the hill beyond the village and the Nossa Senhora de Merces Church are famous churches of the area. You will also enjoy the occasional Portuguese architecture and quaint white churches that you chance upon during long walks in the area.
Activities:
The bull fights at Benaulim, dolphin-viewing boat trips, walks, bike or motorbike rides, water sports and sun bathing are the activities at this beach town.

Benaulim beach in Goa is a fairly quiet beach compared to the crowded north Goa beaches or its neighbour, Colva Beach. It is a vast stretch of white sand that begins where Colva beach tapers off and is famous for fishing or simply lazing around.
Located in south Goa, this beach town is a little south of Margao.
According to folklore Lord Parashurama shot an arrow from the Sahyadris
to the Konkan land, which landed here, hence it is also called Banavali
(baan means arrow in Sanskrit). |
