About Bhandarej Tourism
Bhandarej is a village
in the Dausa district of Rajasthan, conveniently located on the Jaipur - Agra highway. This small
village can trace its roots back to the 11th century. Steeped in history, it is
known from the time the Kachchawaha chieftain Dulha Rai captured it. It has
many pre-medieval temples and monuments to explore. In medieval times Bhandarej was
renowned for its unique sculptures, lattice work, and terracotta vessels. Today
tourists throng to see the remnants of the structures excavated by
archeologists. The village has a strong tribal heritage. Jeep, horse safaris
and camel trips are organized at the village. From Bhandarej, the wildlife sanctuaries of Sariska, Ranthambore and
Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary are easily accessible. One can also shop for the famed
carpets from this
village.
