The quaint mixture of the old and the new sights give you a feel of how the city has grown. Bathinda Fort  or Qila Mubarak is where Empress Razia Sultana was imprisoned, and is also a place associated with Gru Gobind Singhji. Gurudwara Shri Haji Rattan (2 km) was also visited by the tenth Guru. The three lakes near the thermal plants, Damdama Sahib, Maiser Khana Temple (29 km), Zoological Park (6 km), and Rose Garden are other places of interest.

Activities:

The artificial tanks/sarovars around the city are ideal for picnics. The many religious shrines bustle with pilgrims and devotees.

Immersed in history but at the same time rubbing shoulders with modernity is how one would describe Bhatinda. Located in southern Punjab, it is an old city were Guru Gobind Singhji fought the Mughals. There are a myriad events that speak of the city and its people's defiance of the British  and princely rulers. Today the city is an important market for agricultural products (food grains and flourmills), handloom weaving and cotton. The huge thermal power plants and its prominence in trade are Bhatinda's bold steps in modern times.
