| About Bidar Tourism |
Located in Bidar district, in the northern most part of Karnataka, Bidar
town was the ancient capital of the Bahmani rulers during the 15th
century. It is located at 2,200 feet above sea level on a plateau
overlooking the Manjira river valley. Bidar also has several religious centres including the famous Nanak Jheera, which is the largest Sikh temple in Karnataka.
Sightseeing Highlights:
The main attraction is the Bidar Fort,
which was built in the 8th century and later renovated again in the
14th century. One can still see the ruins of the bastions and gates,
