Located in Bidar district, in the northern most part of Karnataka, Bidar town was the ancient capital of the Bahmani rulers during the 15th century. It is located at 2,200 feet above sea level on a plateau overlooking the Manjira river valley. Bidar also has several religious centres including the famous Nanak Jheera, which is the largest Sikh temple in Karnataka.
