Sightseeing:
Visit the famous Fort Aguada, a 16th century Portuguese fort atop the cliff of Sinquerim. You can see the ruins of the citadel, a lighthouse, a clock and bell. The location of the fort also gives you a breathtaking view of the sea, rivers and the port.
Candolim Church, dedicated to Our Lady of Hope, was built in the 15th century and has lovely stained glass work. Also visit the Chapel of St. Lawrence, dedicated to the patron saint of sailors.
You could also head to the beaches of Baga and Calangute, or the neighbouring towns.
Other Activities:
Candolim is another beach of Goa where you can indulge in a variety of water sports like water skiing, wind surfing, scuba diving and para sailing. You could also try you hand at some fishing here. Take the dolphin and crocodile spotting trips, or one of the island trips.

Candolim is yet another popular beach haven in North Goa, located to the south of Calangute. A seven kilometer long stretch of sun kissed sands, starting from Aguada and ending at Chapora beach, greets you when you visit Candolim. Since it is close to Panaji, it makes a good base for exploring the rest of Goa. The beach is quite peaceful, compared to some of the more popular ones, and has a wide range of accommodation.
Apart
from the sunbathing and swimming, you can watch the fisherman coming
back from sea with their daily catch. The adventurous ones cab get
indulge in water based action, and the foodies can taste the various
options at the many shacks dotting the beach.
Historically,
Candolim is the birthplace of the Father of Hypnotism, Abbe Faria and
home to the first revolt against the Portuguese. |
