Seeing Highlights
The
famous Cansaulim Church was built in 1581, but remodelled
in 1632. Built in the classical Portugese style, it has both religious
and historic significance.
Cansaulim Railway Station was established in 1881 and is worth a visit.

diving, enjoy sunbathing and swimming. There are a variety of local Goan shacks
on the beach and meals can be enjoyed right there. You can also take in and
enjoy the full richness of the Cansaulim village culture and browse throughout

The
sandy golden beach of Cansaulim, is located in the southern Goa district located within Mormugao taluka and is
approximately 15 km. from Madgao. The Quelim and the Arossim beaches are the
two closest beaches of the Cansaulim. The lush green Cansaulim shorelines are fringed
with shady palm groves, while the grainy golden sanded beach is secluded and
clean. The vista from a distance is breathtakingly beautiful with the
picturesque view of rolling sea waves, swaying palms and long stretching beach,
laid with sea shells and occasional crabs.
It
has become a holiday destination due to its alluring climate, picturesque
settings and interesting rustic atmosphere. Besides the crystal clean beach,
little beach eateries and luxury restaurants there are numerous destinations to
visit here.
The
charm of a tiny fishing village turned into a commercial town that has been
able to preserve its Old Portuguese flavour, as Cansaulim hamlet joins in with
the surrounding villages of Quelim, and Arossim to celebrate the "Three Kings Feast" during
the last few days of December and first week of January. Tourists have
long been coming from afar to join in the celebration known as the "Fiesta dos Reis" and "The Holy Epiphany".
From
luxury hotels in the vicinity to guesthouses and holiday homes that will give a
personal flavour of what the Cansaulim culture is like, accommodation is
available to suit all budgets. Peaceful ambience, beautiful lush green
surroundings and an old world charm of Cansaulim has made it a tourist hot spot
