About Chidambaram Tourism
Located in central Tamil Nadu, about 60 km from Pondicherry, Chidambaram
is a major pilgrim town and is famous for its Shiva temple. A unique
one of a kind temple, it is dedicated to Lord Nataraja and the
classical dance of Bharatanatyam. Chidambaram
is a major pilgrimage centre for Hindus. The town is developed around
the main temple. Of the many festivals, the two largest are the 10-day
car festivals, which are celebrated in April/May and December/January.
In February, Chidambaram also hosts the annual Natyanjali dance festival. There are many more tourist places nearby that you can visit from here.
