| About Chikhaldara Tourism |
Located in the Amaravati district, Chikhaldhara
is the only hill station in the Vidarbha region. It is situated at a
height of 1,118 m and offers plenty wildlife, lovely lakes and
waterfalls. According to legends, Chikaldhara
is named after the demon Keechaka, who was killed by the Pandava hero,
Bhima. Since then this place was called Keechakadara. Over time this
came to be known as Chikhaldara. This is also the only coffee-growing area in Maharashtra and is known for its deep valleys and scenic beauty, making it a popular summer retreat.
Sightseeing Highlights:
One
of the most attractive things here are the different viewpoints in the
town, which offer stunning views of the peaks and valleys including
sunset views. It
is famous for its nearby wildlife sanctuaries, which include the
Dhakna-Kolkaz National Park and Melghat Tiger Reserve, which is one of
the last remaining habitats of the Indian tiger in the state. Among the
