The main attraction of Chittor lies in its proximity to Tirupati (67 km away) the world famous holy hill that houses the Venkatshwara temple. There is also the Chandragiri fort, which was the former capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. The Sultans palace known as Rangini Mahal is another tourist highlight.
One can also go to Kalavagunta village, which is the seat of the ancient temples of Mukkantisvara and Lakshminarayana that are more than 1000 years old.

Horsely Hills, located near the town of Madanapalle is a favourite spot for picnics. It is one of the most popular hill stations in the state. Near Madanapalle is also the famous Rishi Valley residential school founded by Jiddu Krishnamurthy.
Other outdoor activities is visiting the waterfall and picnic spot at Kailashnath Kona or trekking in the Yelampalli forest .

architectural temples, striking monuments, wildlife sanctuaries and
cultural festivals. Chittoor is also a centre for mangos, grain,
sugarcane, and peanuts. Its industries include oil pressing and rice
