| About Chittoor Tourism |
Located in the Poini River valley of southernmost Andhra Pradesh, on the Bangalore-Chennai highway, Chittoor is 154-km from Chennai.
It is the headquarters of the district and is known for its
architectural temples, striking monuments, wildlife sanctuaries and
cultural festivals. Chittoor is also a centre for mangos, grain, sugarcane, and peanuts. Its industries include oil pressing and rice milling.
Sightseeing Highlights:
The main attraction of Chittor lies in its proximity to Tirupati
(67 km away) the world famous holy hill that houses the Venkatshwara
temple. There is also the Chandragiri fort, which was the former
