| About Dahanu Tourism |
Located in the Thane district, about 145 kms from Mumbai, is Dahanu.
It is a quiet seaside town with a sprawling, uncluttered beach. The
entire beach stretch is about 17 kms, lined with casuarinas trees. The Dahanu
village is mainly a fishing community. The entire stretch also has
fruit orchards and is famous for its chickoos. According to stories,
this area was once a barren and isolated stretch, until the Iranis came
here and inhabited it. Now it has many stately Parsi mansions and
holiday homes.
Sightseeing Highlights:
The only thing to do here is to visit the beach and
enjoy the sea. The waves are calm and have no undercurrents. The beach
is extremely broad during low tide and you can also go for long walks
or play volleyball and football on the sands. Building sandcastles and
collecting sea shells are another way of wiling away your time. |

| Overview of the destinationI hail from Delhi and Planned this trip to Dahanu with my sister and a common friend.
Date - 27th December - I woke up at Food, sight-seeing and shopping Dahanu Village Parisar - Art and Craft outlet (near Pearline)
Drive to Bordi beach - 10 kms from Dahanu (the drive is good)
No shopping - what Activities & things to do Try reaching the flying doctor and convince for a joy ride.
Horse rides at the beach are available in the evening. Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc. Mumbai to Dahanu = 138 kms
3.5 hours on the Nasik NH8 Highway
