Sight Seeing Highlights
The pristine
location of the Harike Wetlands is
worth a visit. This region was declared a Wildlife Sanctuary in 1999 and is
considered a wetland of International Stature by Ramsar site under UNDP in
1990.
The Barki Memorial dedicated to the
soldiers, who lost their lives in the 1965 War after the fall of the Barki town
in Lahore.
Saragarhi Memorial
Gurudwara was
constructed in the memory of slain Sikh soldiers of the Sikh Regiment in 1897.
They lost their lives protecting the FortSaragarhi against the
attack of Pathans.
The Anglo
Sikh War Memorial wasmade
by the Punjab Govt. in remembrance to those Punjabis who lost their life
fighting the British at Mudki
Ferozeshah Sabhraon and Chellianwala. There is a museum close by that houses related items.
