Sightseeing Highlights

The Mahavir Temple, and temples of Laxmi Narainji, Murlidhar and Chabhiya are the famous pilgrimage centers around Ghanerao. Gajanand Temple has beautiful idols of the gods and goddesses. The 200-year old Adinath Temple in the village has mural paintings on the ceiling of the outer mandap. Other temples worth seeing are Tapeshwar Mahadev and Charbuja temples.

Narali (30 km) is a pilgrim centre of Jains. There are temples of Baijnath Mahadev, Hinglaj Mata and Neminath on small hills. Ranakpur (I8 Km) is a must see for the 15^th century Adinathji Jain Temples. The 1,444 engraved pillars and sculptures are a sight to behold.

Other Activities

Kumbhalgarh Fort (18 km) built by Rana Kumbha, the Mewar ruler, is a fascinating place to visit, especially the Badal Mahal within it. The Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary has over a hundred varieties of wildlife. In the Kumbhalgarh sanctuary is the 10^th century temple of Muchhal Mahavir. This Jain temple built around the same time as the Ranakpur temples has the only idol of Lord Mahavir with a moustache, thus the name.
